Z1000 and higher Kms
Re: Z1000 and higher Kms
I've got 25,000 miles, (about 43,000 km's) on my 2004 Z1000 and it still runs well. I don't baby it as I am always taking it to red line. I do however run Mobil 1 fully synthetic motor oil and change it every 4,000 km's. Jim Beam is cheaper than the oil I use, speaking of which I think it's time for a shot.
Re: Z1000 and higher Kms
My Zed clocked over 11K on the way home, I've had it 3 months and it now has 14.5K on it. One of the reasons I wanted a zed was because its a "9" engine. I did over 130K on my C model 9 and it was getting better, 133rwhp on Tex's (conservative) dyno at 126K, gotta be happy with that.oldman wrote:I've got 25,000 miles, (about 43,000 km's) on my 2004 Z1000 and it still runs well. The secret to longevity is regaular oil changtes and being ridden as the manufacturer intended.

Re: Z1000 and higher Kms
I sold my '04 Z750 with 36,000kmns on it (i put on from new), he was still going strong. My husband's '03 Z1000 has now about 34,000kms on it, also still going strong with no issues, other than general maintenance.
Cheers,
Anne
