So Brendan, if - and I say IF - you have found the limits of your 250.....what has Tim found on the CB......

I'll give you a tip - you are nowhere near the limit of your bike, you have found the limit of your skill and experience. Practice and experience are what you need, not a bigger bike. ;)

You are correct there Strika, for example my old CBR250RR ... std engine / equiv to Brendans but not as nice, was good for 1.53's around Eastern Creek. There is a benchmark for you Brendan 8)

Brendan,Brendan,Brendan, as some people have kindly put it, you still have a very long way to go before you have that 250 on its limits.
I think Phil has a point....You have found YOUR limits, not the bikes. Whats Tim finding on his CB 250? That's a good point. I would say the limit.

1.53 at the creek. ;) I'm going to be timing you Brendan.

The CB has limits  . I think Tim (username GPXTIM) has the CB at the limits of exploitation  . Would like to see if he could get the ZXR250 to its limits ;) (as he did with the ZXR750 when he was racing) then we would see whats its limits are  ;) .

Found the limits of your bile already Brendan?
Bullshit.
Givitere and I'll show you what it can do!

If you find your abilities too far above the capabilities of the bike then perhaps you should be looking at ways in which to make it handle and corner better, perhaps look at your own riding style and make improvements there. Sure in a straight line you may be wanting the greater HP but essentially you can enter corners at or above the same speed as a larger capacity machine, its what you do from there that counts.
Try this on your 2fiddy. Get your knee down. On your bike its a piece of piss and you can do it at 30kmh - its when your doing it at 130kmh I might believe you have found its limits.

What does putting a ZXR400 engine into a ZXR250 involve? The engine in my 250 blew up, so I'm after another one anyway

Having the dimensions of engine mounts, output sprocket exhaust would be a start. Perhaps an engineering can-do attitude may help. Try Google
http://www.fuckinggoogleit.com/ ----- taking the piss there obviously
Have a go and see. :D

haha I'd like to but I dont have the money to experiment when it'd probably go wrong somewhere from engine mounting points -> fitting new carbies -> fitting airbox airbox under the tank -> mounting the exhaust -> new CDI and other electronic stuff. Not sure where to get my hands on a 400 engine, anyway. They seem to be even rarer than the 250s.
