Gearbox issue

They should have changed it to Synthetic at 1000km, that is normal practice.

normal ? where ?

normal is to run mineral oil to at least 6K for decent ring bed in

Not sure what they should have done- all i know is what they did do-

it had mineral oil put in at the 1000km service. The guy in the shop agreed with us that it should be on synthetic oil now. Not sure, but it's working much better.

If the rings aren't bedded in by around 200 K's on modern sport bikes it isn't going to happen!

Have you got any proof that the rest of the engine is machined so poorly that it needs to be run for thousands of ks? Funny considering that racing engines don't even live that long.

there is no proof and no mention that things are machined so 'poorly' as you put it

majority of the run in happens in the first 1K , but engines tend to run better as they approach the 10K mark or further depending on the brand
