Or I have a hard copy.
All sorted thanks (I think). Bike spent a week at an auto sparky that only does bikes, siad np with it. Kon had it for 2 days, rode it a bit, had no prob with it. I go to pick it up last night, turn the key, press the starter, no go... Kon fucks around it with it a bit longer and it starts, reckons it's the clutch switch, so that's now isolated and I guess we test for a day or 3 then nut out a new clutch switch if that is indeed the problem.

Thanks for pdf dave.

Wobbles, believe manuals section the password has changed as someone posted the link on Nutrider..

The clutch switch is also linked to the sidestand switch, the neutral switch and to the CDI which reads as an "if" "Then" which kills the engine. If there is a fault somewhere there then this system should be tested - well as far as the CDI anyway - for dodgy connections or switches. I dont believe there is anyway of testing the CDI without specific diagnostic equipment based around that particular CDI's circuitry.
The cheapest outcome will be the clutch or sidestand switch worth a couple of bucks - at worst a secondhand CDI, last I saw on ebay was $90 but of course with secondhand units there is no way of knowing whether they are any good until they are plugged in or tested.
Ask Billy about CDI's  Particularly expensive ones from the UK toothy10.gif If only he had a common garden variety GPX la.gif

Just post me the bits that don't get too badly scorched by the bonfire you are going to build under it.

And remember!

"Gotta love the 9!" :D

No idea really of the history of the bike, it all worked ok for the first 6 weeks or so then this gemlin electrical thing popped up and given that it's intermittent makes it much harder to diagnose, giving me the shits big time :(

Well I called auto sparky today, they can't find the fault and won't be letting it go till they do as they know there IS a fault somewhere so dyno day goes without me and i'm stuck in the cage for a while yet I reckon :(
