you would be quicker on the 6 I reckon, and the new 6 looks f*&^ing good IMO.

BM I was outgrowing the six but then i cleaned the airfilter and changed the plugs and they will lift the front wheel in the first couple of gears without too much effort on your part just twist the wrist...try to test ride a 06 6r.

mate i was trying to keep her honest...

im not one to scare easy (ive seen duanes poo pics) ..BUT... any bike that hoists the front boot in the air when ur in 3rd gear and get a bit excited...well they just dont go round corners so well like that (its a bit of a fight)...

on my only test ride of the 05..the day i got my licence back... i had it on the back wheel more than the front...made for an interesting ride... it doesnt suit my "heavy handed" style...

Well, that one foot looks pretty fekkin flat to the ground, and that's plenty. It means you can either hold the bike with one foot flat and the other on the peg, or on the tippie-toes of both feet. It's more than half the MotoGP grid can manage... don't get a phobia about holding the bike off vertical at a standstill, either...

...as for the 10R being too much bike for someone coming off an ER-6... possibly, but who gives a shit (I've just developed an allergy to the "Say, that's a lot of bike for a lady" attitude from when Seraph was shopping for a 12R; she hasn't highsided herself through a busload of orphans yet). Take one out, see how much the two of you like each other. At 5,000rpm on quarter throttle, it won't make any more power than your ER-6, but it'll be lighter, and it'll have better suspension and brakes.

The '06/'07 is a fair bit calmer. The heavier crank and the extra rake make themselves felt fairly early on in the piece.

why stay away from the 10r? if you think you can ride it then go for it but if u not an awesome rider, stay clear coz that thing is a weapon

It's a personal choice I guess, ride the 6R and the 10R and then decide which is easier to live with, or suits ya tastes better, and go for it As long as it does what you want it to do you'll be right, you don't have to ride flat out to enjoy a 10R, and you don't have to have little big mans syndrome on a 600 and get all defensive when you have 10 1 litre bikes surrounding ya on a cruise.

The new 6 is a very nice ridee indeed, not sure how much lower it is but if your serious you really need to take one for a spin.
When i was buying my 10, there was a lady i knew from a couple of years ago came into the shop to buy a bike, she liked the look of both the 6 and the 10.
2 weeks later i caught up with her and she bought an orange 07' 6, loves it to death and the shop i was in lost a sale because she said they "did not take her seriously, or treat her right".
Motorcycle shops and salespeople ought to take note when females are looking in bike shops, they have a lot more free time and disposable income these days.

Actually, I'd like to see them introduce a compulsory red traffic light stop. That'd sort the men out from the boys.

If you really like the flames, there's an 06 ZX6 that came with them. As for the 10R, it's a beast if you work it hard but a puppy is you take it easy. As for cornering issues and 3rd gear wheelstands - it holds a good line through the apex and only stands up on the exit

If you are unsure the ZX6 will have enough for you, talk to Gos - I believe a couple of them gave his 12 a run for its money just a couple of weeks ago.
