I think it may be sorted..
I stripped the bike this morning and Frank and Shane came over to help get to the bottom of it. Shane is pretty cluey with this stuff and has all the right gear.
He rewired the igniter, put on some new fuse lines, soldered all the dodgy connections, simplified the battery connections and generally tidied the mess up..
Unfortunately every time we hit the ignition it blew a fuse. An hour or so of checking and tracing wiring eventually revealed a loose connector to the coil. It apeared to be shorting on the mounting bracket so I removed the coil, modified the bracket (hit it with a hammer) and put it back togther.
She started up and ran OK up and down the street so I'm hoping she'll be right...

As bad a day as it was, it was better than Swabio's, he rang me today with the bad news....
