Well it's a bit embarrassing.... but ok, lol.
I had something in my eye and was rubbing it, next thing I know the corner is upon me. Was doing about 80 but managed to brake hard and got the bike to slow down quite a bit but knew I wasn't going to make the corner, rode straight off the road into leaves and dirt. Came off the bike and tumbled a few times, I remember sky, ground, sky, ground, lol, knew it wasn't too bad as I could feel pain in my ankle.
They took me to hospital as a precaution, had to lie in the neck brace for over 5 hours, don't you just hate those bedpans !!
The police got called in and I had to make a statement, they're going to charge me with neg driving. The rural emergency guys said they've had a few crashes on that corner and someone mentioned it was missing the speed sign, might be able to use that info if I want to fight the charge.
I'll definitely be back out there when the bike is fixed and my left bum cheek doesn't hurt so much

i'd also be interested to know what corner it was, souns like it could be one of the notorious ones, i'll speak to harvey today and see if it was "that corner" as we call it

.
Glad you're ok & didnt line up for the "Ride through Ksrc Dinner Pack" you know a Dodgy breast, chicken wing & Medium chips. Or in medical terms a Buggered lung, farked shoulder & plenty of broken ribs.
Heal up & Gear up REAL soon.
Good work on the crew with the assistance, but off course would'nt off expected anything less from the Nasho crew.

Jen,
Rod pointed out the corner this morning, as i thought it was the one named "that corner" you were not the first, nor will you be the last person to drop it there.
if you look closely, there are fairing panel from just about every sort of bike known to man in the bushes there

A good mate will bail you out of jail, a true mate will be sitting in the cell next to you saying "Damn, we fucked up!!!"

Sorry to hear about your accident, my missus had an accident at Nasho yesterday - not sure whether it was the the very same corner.
The front wheel of her bike lost traction on the gravel as she was turning on a right hander. She is ok now, had a laceration on the knee - got 14 sitches at the hospital yesterday

Oh no, not another one. I'm glad she wasn't too badly hurt.
I've been told it was a corner about 1k into the park from the Audley weir. I haven't had a chance to go back and have a look.
I've been told the bike might be a write off as the bike shop found 20+ things damaged/broken!!
Did the police get involved as they did with me and i'm going to be charged with neg driving.
I hope she is feeling better soon.

all the gravel is near the creek just before the bundeena exit. a massive section has been resurfaced and its getting patchy already - its only been down for a few weeks according to the guys

Thanks.
My wife was really lucky, it would have been worst given the road condition.
Yes, the corner was not too far from Audrey - I would say about 5 mins ride from there.
I believe the road has been re-surfaced recently, however has not yet been sealed properly, there were still a lot of loose gravel on the surface. We have been told by the Rangers that this is a popular spot for motorcycle accident, the RTA should have done something about it.
What a bummer you got charged with neg driving, should blame the RTA for faliure to put the warning sign!
