Great stuff Mick, I can see you have needed to buy an old motorbike for a long time !
Tyres - Metzeler Laser ME33 on the front, 100/90x19. Its the *only* choice for one of these old dungers. Lasts for ages, great compound, you will be dragging the pegs easy
- For the back, well there are a few that could be used, Hal has some good 120 Metzies at the moment that will match a ME33 well.
I am looking forward to seeing this rig in the flesh

I'm sorry Dave, I can't do that...............

Hal is the guy who runs TJ's Tyres, I get all my tyres for the old bikes there, he has been doing tyres for me for about 15 years, since he bought the shop. The guys who owned it before that had done my tyres for about 10 years .......

He is a good source of parts as well (aftermarket stuff) for older bikes, I basically use him for all the older stuff, and use CMC for tyres for the 12.

As the money has run out for a little while until I can save up some more (HG was an expensive little trip
), most of the work has been cleaning things up, fixing wiring and doing some polishing. I filed out some fairly big scratches in the alternator cover and polished it up...still needs a bit of tidying up though. I've also spent a bit of time playing around with the fuel tap and carbies to sort out some of the little leaks that were adding up together to be a bit bigger. I also pulled out the crappy old rusted out screws holding the tank badges on and treated the bits of rust behind them, then wacked a bit of primer on to seal it until I get around to doing the respray in a couple of months time.
Hopefully I'll have enough this pay to get the new tyres, then I should be able to get it inspected and registered soonish. I'm also bidding on some new throttle cables on ebay. I wanted it ready for the Blanket Run on the 12th of May, but I just can't see that happening. It's also getting bloody frustrating riding it up and down the driveway on crappy tyres...I just want to get it on the road dammit!
Anyway, here are some up-to-date pics that hopefully show it's starting to look a bit better
