An alcoholic would have had more than 20 drinks in their lifetime yeah??? Well I've only had about that many bikes so I can't be a bikeaholic!

I used to always have at least two registered cars, now its a car, a road bike, a race bike and a bike for parts....and many many other bike parts.
And I'm still looking out for a commuter bike.
And a trail bike.....
A touring 12 would look good in the stable too.

Softcock? Yep, I'm at work and they don't like it when I've got a hard one

Ride my bike? I ride the 10 every day mate, then I sit in my garage at night with the Z650 and make broom broom noises

Stripped the bike down? Yep, but not cause I plowed into something but because the gearbox blew up

Fitted something from different make and model? I would never fit something from a different make, but I fitted a gearbox from a different model

2,000km ride for pissup and races? Twice a year plus HG this year

...maybe I do need help

Yup bikeaholic here. Own 12 bikes, 3 very dead, unlikely to recover and 9 runningish. (GT in bits, another GT unregistered, ZZR bald rear tyre etc) Decided a job working with bikes would be great. Talk bikes constantly. Bore others not interested in bikes. Reading material is usually bike mags. Spend hours on the net discussing bikes and researching bikes. Most (all?)of my mates ride. Won't admit I have a problem so that is how it is going to stay.

Hell no.... Mechanics are really good at that kind of thing.... Im good at fixing computers..... I fix computers until I can pay a mechanic to do that kind of thing... sure they rip me off... but then... they get their computers fixed... and I rip THEM off... so it evens out...Neka79 wrote: how many have stripped a bike down to bare essentials cos ya ploughed it into a car/bike/guardrail/tree ??
Hmm... I used an R1 exhaust on my CBR.... and I adjusted the needles myself...... Does that count?Neka79 wrote: how many of ya have made sumthin from one bike fit onto a tottally different make/model??

They're such pessimists, orthopaedic surgeons... after my knee reconstruction in October last year, I was supposed to stay off the bike for two months. I lasted three weeks. It took that long until I could bend my knee far enough to get it onto the peg... another few days, and I could do it without having to use my left hand to lift my leg off the ground and bend my knee into position...Phil wrote:considering i nearly broke down and cried in the orthopedic surgeons office this morning when he told me it would be at least 8 weeks untill i could ride again, i guess that means i'm afflicted too.
...in the meantime, I cheered myself up during the week and a half I spent convalescing in bed by buying my current ZX9 off Ebay.
Now I'm off to have a cigarette on the front porch, and I'm taking my coffee with me.

Unless you quickly make mention of a wheelchair fitted with a ZZ-R1100 motor, it doesn't.Chuck wrote:Well I've been riding for years apart from getting cleaned up be a car about 2 years ago and having to get my leg reconstructed and spending 18 months in wheelchairs and crutches and I'm still riding . Does that count.

I also know a bloke who took his leg out of plaster a week after breaking his ankle and foot, to do a ride day! He wired up a plate to the brake pedal and footpeg to rest his broken foot on, and still managed 1'50"s on an old GSXR1100H with Avons!

well my dicks not as big as that guys dick...BUT after i wrote the VTR off i went to test ride the CBR... i got out of the car on crutches (was bruised from my shoulder to my knee , had a coupla cracked ribs and a broken thumb)...hobbled over to the bike and asked the owner of said bike to get my lid out of the car....he proceeded to tell me how i couldnt ride his bike in that state, i proceeded to tell him how i had the $$ in my account and if it fell over i was buying it... he held the crutches as i rode around for abt 15min before i came back, took my crutches and hobbled back to the ute to get the deposit...Strika wrote:I also know a bloke who took his leg out of plaster a week after breaking his ankle and foot, to do a ride day!
