well I've been hiding this for a week but my conscious is killing me. I gave in and sold the 10R and the 6R and got an R1. I tried and tried to setup the 06/07 10R up to be what I would like to ride, but the R1 was just a better product for me.

Its sad, but on the other hand, I'm loving the R1. Sadly, its not green and all my gear, jacket and helmet dont match anymore...

Anyway, hope I dont get ex-communicated for this (or worse). Still held on to my plates (DZX-10) for when I can throw my leg over another ZX10r... Just not in the next few years...

Cheers,

kypez.
Best of luck with that "thing". Don't get it mixed up with all the other R1's out there.... :x :x :x :x

Kawasakis seem to make a smidgen more power than other comparable bikes but they seem to have worse suspension.
What's so bad about the others?
I don't see anyone saying the R1 sucks...
A couple of sarcastic tongue in cheek comments must be expected, as this is a Kawasaki forum after all...
Its all in good humour.

Same as it would be if posted how great your ford is on a holden forum. or substitute any brand name or sports team and there competitor...

This is a 5-Bourbon post !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are the best Japanese bike by a long shot, thats what. How many 30 year-old CB900 Hondas, or GS 1000's, or XS1100 Yamaha's do you see on the roads these days ?? Fuckin' NONE thats how many. How many 30yo+ Z900's and Z1000's do you see ?? Plenty. Its all about the engineering behind the brand, and for those johhny-come-lately's who are still wet behind the ears, well they know jack-all about the bigger picture, only the flashy advertising that impresses rednecks.

MiG wrote:..Kawasakis seem to make a smidgen more power than other comparable bikes.....
When a 1-litre Kwakka (ZX10R) makes 152 rwhp, and a 1-litre Yamaha (R1) makes 130 rwhp, well that is a difference of over 20 hp. That is not a *smidgin*, that is a fuckin' shitload. That is why Yamaha's are referred to as puss-buckets from Hell !!
MiG wrote:....but they seem to have worse suspension....
seem ?? what the hell does that mean. You ridden any lately ? Or just reading opinions on the R1 or Gixxer forums ?? FFS.....

See all the above replies.

Mate, this is a Kawasaki forum. We reserve the right to fully bag the living shit out of anything that is not Green ! Simple really. Ford V Holden ?? Who gives a flying fuck, people want to support whatever they like, wether the cars are the *same* is totally irrelevant, its called *supporting your team*. Do you understand this concept ?

I guess you are not into football either, because for fucks sake, all those footballers are *exactly* the same under their jerseys, so why would anyone want to pick a particular team and barrack for them ??? Its just *mindless bigotry* really isn't it ??

This forum supports all bikers, regardless of what they ride. But it will always be a *KAWASAKI* forum first and foremost, so expect a lot of support for Team Green - if you think this is just mindless bigotry, you are way off the mark. Its about being a team player.

I appreciate the comprehensive reply.

Does that still apply to modern Kawasakis? Just asking, it's not a rhetorical question.
- Crap, a Kawasaki won the Supersport race at PI on the weekend  I guess this doesn't count ??
C'mon, one race result isn't a rebuttal. In general the GSX-Rs and CBRs get more results. How far back was Kawa in the SBK race? Second to drop out and third last to finish. Sure it had the highest speed on the straight in the qualifying, but that didn't translate into lap time or race position. Maybe peak power isn't everything.
seem ?? what the hell does that mean. You ridden any lately ? Or just reading opinions on the R1 or Gixxer forums ?? FFS.....
I haven't ridden them and I haven't been reading other forums. I've seen a few comments on THIS forum and in bike shootouts.
Mate, this is a Kawasaki forum. We reserve the right to fully bag the living shit out of anything that is not Green! [...] Do you understand this concept ?
Surely you understand the difference between supporting your team and shitting on everything that isn't your team? Love one vs hating the rest?
I guess you are not into football either, because for fucks sake, all those footballers are *exactly* the same under their jerseys, so why would anyone want to pick a particular team and barrack for them ??? Its just *mindless bigotry* really isn't it ??
Nah, I'm not into football and I can't understand at all why people are so passionate about a particular team. Consider what the soccer fans do. Still want to roll your eyes about me calling it mindless bigotry?

Actually MiG, the suzukis are doing pretty badly in the supersport looking at the totals... I think K is beating them this year...

Please always remember that Kawasaki is the smallest motorcycle factory out of the big 4...

They dont spend the same budget on racing..... Honda and Yamaha, and also suzuki to some degree, see race results being a direct factor in sales............. and they are right to a large degree..... Kawasaki seem to think that making better bikes is better for sales.... or that is what one of their press releases says..... In any case, race results in the "big" classes, like superbikes and MotoGP is usually a reflection on investment..... Do you think Collin Edwards could have won superbikes on an SP2 if honda hadnt been throwing buckets of money at the project? No.... Every year I hope that Kawasaki is going to change their philosophy..... I have high hopes for this year... they are bringing the teams back in-house... that is a good sign!

I like R1's... I think they are pretty.... And the Bombers are going to smash the swans this year.
The world is round. It has no point.

  good luck mate, Lloydy will do a heartstring at thats the end of that. Especially if they keep relying on Hirdie to bring it through the middle....

all I know is that *everyone* is going to smash the Pies this year ....

MiG - no problems, I will continue to support my footy team (while hating all the others except the Tigers who deserve nothing but sympathy & compassion  ), and also continue to support the Big K above and beyond all other brands. Soccer fanatics are beyond me, most of that is just misplaced patriotism, something that is beyond your normal footy supporter.............
