Two years ago 'Bikes Only' (head office is in Brisbane) transported my ZX12 from Melbourne to Perth. Cost was $950. They stuffed it up because the bike had (superficial) damage when it arrived - scratched tank cover, torn f/brake lines, broken front wheel guard. They put it down to a careless truckie who didn't put the bike in the truck with enough care. Anyway, they picked up the tab for all the repairs and transported the bike back to Emerald 3 weeks later when I was ready to go home. In the end they did all the right things I guess but I sure was pissed off when I saw it in Perth. Incidentally, I've used them since to transport my next ZX12 from Brisbane to Emerald earlier this year - good job.
