as an old hat at this black clothing business, try whacking them in a bucket of hot water with some DYLON in it (can get it from spotlight about $15 for the fade resistant stuff, it's heaps better than RITSaki wrote:but yes the black ones do fade rather fast but they are only $200 a pair, so just replace them after a while
as for the kevlar-bum business, I tend to not wear draggin's for touring as this gets distracting & annoying and I refuse to wear appropriate underwear
cotton boxer shorts are the go, not too tight so you stay cool and comfy - those shiny synthetic tight shorts are not so cool, think of the funk after a day in the saddle

I once tried to buy some camoflague pants but couldn't find them.......
I wear Draggins, and have ridden to Gulgong and back in summer on a 250 and didnt have any issues with kevlar on bum. I dont think the black are much hotter than the classic blue (I have both) but I will add that my blue ones shrank a little
and the black ones didnt.

You can get the re-dyed by the Draggins guys. I took mine up to the factory outlet in South Melbourne, and the old guy got them done again for me - $10. I think normally it's $35 though.Saki wrote:well the draggins i have bought are a PERFECT fit for me, and they fit snug, i am not swimming in them in fact there is pretty much no room to move in them! but yes the black ones do fade rather fast but they are only $200 a pair, so just replace them after a while
From what I've seen of the fit on the Hornee jeans, they wouldn't protect your hips as much in an accident. Unfortunately your hips are the bit that's most likely to be sliding along the ground...red_dave wrote:I'd rather those Hornee jeans than the Draggins...
I like Draggins. Helluva lot better than regular jeans, but obviously not a patch on leathers. But they are more comfy and you can get away with wearing them out. The cargo/chino ones probably aren't as protective as the jeans (stitching + they move around), but they are still much better than regular clothing.

I have a pair of black denim draggins. I use them for short trips around town or to work on a casual Friday when I don't have to wear a suit. They are really comfortable and a great alternative to the leathers if you want to go somewhere and do something at the other end of your trip - eg watching football, shopping etc. I have never come off wearing them but they have a good reputation for abrasion resistance. I never wear them for hills riding or long trips.

My Draggin jeans are ok- not as comfortable as my leathers though. They do tend to be a bit uncomfortable after a long ride in the kevlar spots/ seams. I like the way leather moulds to your body and looks good too

I have a pair of Joe Rocket Jeans that are steel mesh like very small chain mail. They are super comfortable and look better than Draggin Jeans. I don't think they have the same level of protection though.
I have also just bought a pair of blue camo Draggin Jeans but not yet worn them. They were on special at MCA at Parramatta for $170.
The Draggin jeans seem much heavier than the Joe Rockets.

Ok... I used to work for Draggin Jeans... Know em... Love em!
They are not ment to protect you as well as what leathers would, but they are the next best thing.
We had heaps of jeans come back from people who have come off... Most of the time they were happy with the outcome. However... if they do not fit correctly, they will not work correctly. The kevlar is ment to sit above the knee while you are standing up, they are ment to be a snug fit AND (most ppl dont realise) you are ment to wear a belt with them.
Alot of the women were whining about them sitting too high, but they are designed to protect the hips.
There are a few things that can go wrong with draggins (aside from ppl coming off).
Probably the more common one is kevlar damaged by sunlight. UV rays can make the kevlar weak. So always drip dry in the shade or tumble dry.
You can buy draggins direct from them in Wells St South Melbourne, or from there website http://www.dragginjeans.com.au
