hey guys...

thanks for all the feedback... yeah, got myself some pretty decent deals on both the yamaha and kwakka... I hate to go to yamaha, but I need a new bike and the thing I've found with bikes are that you cant be overly brand loyal, ie, you gotta buy the bike thats right for you...

I love my 10R but its begining to give me some issues and think its time to let it go... so I'm looking for something as close to the 10 as possible. I want something thats as crazy as the 10; that the new 10 doesnt have front my test ride (but I've got 1 tooth less on the front on mine, so it doesnt help the stock 10 I was putting it against, but it couldnt make that much difference, could it?)

Well, its a month before the yamaha hits the shores so I've got a wait, and without a bike doesnt help... but I guess patience is the key... the great deals were from the show and the deal I got on the kwakka was after I showed the guy I had put a (refundable) deposit on the yamaha... the yamaha guy saw me at kwakka and gave me a further discount... hehe...

And as for the GSXR, its got a front end only a mother (or its designer) could love... I cant do it... Not even gonna bother about the blade...

Will keep you posted...

Well, since the ZX-10R-B is the most raucous litre sportsbike to be released since the 1998 R1, you're going to have some difficulties there.

Given how the R1 has been developing over the last two models, that's all the more reason not to go for an '07 R1 without a test ride.

With just about any new sportsbike design, it's always the first model which is the rawest and the most out of control; GSX-R750, ZXR750, 'Blade, R1, GSX-R1000, ZX-10R, they've all panned out like that.

Actually yeah I reckon it almost could. The -1 front sprocket is far and away the cheapest most effective performance modification you can make to a 10 8)

What issues does your 10 have??? You have to test ride and work it out for yourself its the only way you will know and i am sure their both great things.

I dont like R1's mostly because they are so common........ every second rider seems to have one.... and they cant be all that great because at my track day last weekend I musta lapped about 60 of them...... (or perhaps it was 20 and i lapped them 3 times)....

About $2000 - $2500. That'll have it all sweet again.

Interesting that the 1 tooth makes that much of a difference... Yeah, it was the cheapest way to get a better "mid range" (use of the top end at a lower speed) around EC. Guess I've forgotten how it was before and have gotten used to this...

As for Stereo's comment, how many times do you pass GSXR1000 riders around tracks... let me tell you, PLENTY!! Cause every guy and his dog have either an R1 or GSXR. They just cant ride the machines...

So many decisions... but I got a month to nut it all out...

As for the offers, lets say around $18 for both...

if you are getting quoted $18K for a new ZX10 then you better learnt to bargain better

the new R1 i would expect the price to be up due to new model and will drop soon enough

These are ride away prices... including dealer delivery and all the stuff... Think its still high?

a mate of mine bought the new 05 R1 Rossi Special Edition, he reckons its a nice bike but the power doesn't kick in until 8000 rpm.

He also reckons its difficult to mono, compared to his gsxr1000 K4.

I hear the new 10 is also tame until higher revs and after that hold on for ya life.

maybe thats how all the new bikes are going, more road friendly until u kick them in the guts.
