I was wondering what had happened to them. Once upon a time in the good old days of tariffs and locally manufactured parts-bin-engineered rear wheel drive cars, Borg Warner made the auto and manual transmissions for Ford, Nissan, Mistubishi, Chrysler, etc etc. Their first 5 speed manual was plonked in the Sigma, the 2.8 litre Commodore, the 3.3 litre Falcon, the Bluebird, etc.
Who other than Ford are they still making trannies for these days? Or have they moved into other areas again?
I'm not sure who Borg-Warner is still making gear for. The last I heard they got rid of all their overseas companies and pretty much disappeared. I think they are a british company. (I could be totally wrong on this, i'm not sure)
We only make trannies for Ford and Ssangyong, which are your Musso's and Rextons and the like.
We have been sold and are now known as Drivetrain Systems International (DSI). The sale went through at 5 this arvo.
Cheers Ben

Ya leavin yaself WIDE open for some creative editing there Stace
I work full time for a company called K&J Thermal Products which used to be owned by Kees Weel... for those who don't know who that is - thats Paul Weel's dad... WTF is Paul Weel?? He races the Supercheap/PWR Holden V8. He doesn't do very well. But I dont think he's anything special, I ignore everyone that comes on a "tour" through work. Anyways now the Kee's family own PWR who give us orders for custom made radiators and they sell em off as their own... bastards!!
I'm a Core Stacker. I make the cores for radiators for cars, trucks and motorcycles as well as special orders for ATV's, mining machinery over in WA, and generators. We've just picked up the contract for Whales Kawasaki. I make single tubed, double and treble tubed cores. I can get em cheaper than what you'll find em in the shops. Example: got a rad for my fellas Fairmont $111 only.
Been doing this job fulltime since September last year. The bosses are cool and we had an awesome Christmas - I had a great time
