What a classic. At first I was wondering why all you decent folk spent so much time and effort trying to help the little fuckwit, but by the end I was laughing myself stupid. It must be a wind-up though, surely no one's really that stupid are they?

Hang on here. YOU came here for 'advice'. What you ACTUALLY wanted was affirmation from a bunch of seasoned bikers (I'm not one of them) that your screwed version of the world, insurance and the "I'm 17 and can control the throttle" thing was fine and dandy with all a bunch of guys you so desperately want to be part of. Pathetic really, but we're fairly tolerable of all sorts, except young know-it-all, wannabee fucktards like yourself.

Here's the go. When you get pubic hair and see a girl naked for the first time then YOU can criticise guys on this forum that have families. You can also earn the right to tell one of the long standing members to fuck off AFTER you have spent some time listening to what people are saying, and maybe (just maybe) contributed something even remotely useful.

A few things you might like to consider before you go:
1. Start listening to guys that have done the hard yards and not to what the voices in your head are whispering. Until then SHUT THE FUCK UP.
2. If you don't want advice then sure as fuck don't ask for any. This way next time I won't waste 15-20 minutes crafting and editing a concise and well written reply to someone who still is breast-fed by his mother and stopped reading books went Dick met Jane. I'm 44 by the way (not 30) and I have a son your age. At least HE isn't a complete and utter fuckwit. I may even buy him a bike, he's a good kid and knows his limits. It won't be a ZX10R or even a ZX6R, it will be 250cc and he'll think my shit doesn't stink because he'll be on two wheels.
3. Go buy whatever the fuck bike you want and shut the fuck up.
4. Don't buy insurance, but please have the decency to smear yourself against something hard and unyielding like a Armco barrier or a rock wall.
5. I don't think pubic hair or seeing a girl naked will be an option for you, you'll be long gone, cold and 6' under long before you're weaned.
6. Did I mention shut the fuck up?

Have a NICE day.

at least we have good ones that we can ride.

im not 30 either. but the beauty of laptops is you can still be with you wife and bag out ya mates. or others.

Whaaa... whaaa????? did I mis sunfink bra???? (Assimilating with native tongue)

Little lesson for young eager grasshopper;

Years 17 - 21 (young,dumb and fulla cum!) :
If you made it to 21 on a bike you ride the hardest you ever will in your life but crash lots and put new bike parts over food on the table , bills , etc.(You are iether riding a shitbox to and beyond its limits , are up to the eyeballs in HP , sell drugs or bludge off rich parents!!)
You are still learning but what you lack in ability you make up for with enthusiasm.

Years 21 - 30 (still young but a little smarter) :
Ok so you have learned a few valuable lessons and have the scars (and Ti screws) to prove it!! You now ride probably the fastest you ever will as you have learnt a bit more of the art of riding , you still have the lightning fast reactions and normally have an income to support the nicer things in life like say a 10!!
Much more ability / same amount of enthusiasm!

Years 30 - 40 (Old enough to know better!!):
By now you have /or had a stable of bikes , a shed that has the young guns creamin their jeans over , normally a couple of rug rats but still suffer from the occasional 'red mist syndrome'
You begin to notice that despite the taunts from young bucks they often seem to emulate you / constantly ask for set up tips and advice / you buy brand 'X' , they buy brand 'X' etc !? ;)
If you have been riding since step one you take great pleasure in shutting down younger riders on bigger / faster bikes.
By now you have a good balance of youth / ability / experience and sensibilility (occasionally)

If you have not ridden since 17 - 25 you : A Buy smart ie a late 90's+ ZX 9 , ZX12r , ZX14R , 1400GTR or similar ie a good all rounder with plenty of mumbo but a better bike for the longer tours --- Coz you CAN!!! 8) 8) B have just brought an Aprilia/Ducatti or similar (2 wheeled equiv to red MGB/Lotus etc!!!) You have all the bling money can buy on a 35K + ride which is NEVER seen dirty. You tend to leave your helmet on just that little bit longer after group rides to hide the thinning hairline!?..You buy second hand track day tyres and knee sliders to give a bit of "street cred'!!" (Another story..... )

Most importantly - If you are a 'TRUE motorcyclist' and HAVE been riding consistently for 20+ odd years , you have seen a few rather unpleasant sights from those who may or may not have tempted fate. You remember how little you listened to old farts back then but you try anyway because you've seen enough horror to not wish it upon another.

Damm I missed the fun :(

I want a wife and kids too... :(

I also want a 1000cc bike.. oh yeah I already have one ..

ummm..

Love the line about not needing insurance.. I'll track down the guy who knocked my bike over who was uninsured and let him know about that.. I'm quite sure he's still paying my insurance company back the money they paid me.....

I had fun on my crim, i owned mine when i was 21 but i sold it because it has no down low around the street to use as a daily and i need a daily.
I got a mate who bought an R1 when he was 19 and he is a very good riding and he blitz's most of hte old couts with 20 years under there belt on the track.

I think some ppl are just gifted with skills. But i guess if this 17 y/o bro kid just went out and did it rather than discuss it then hey whats the problem!

whats with saying use, its you, or at a stretch You'se if you swing that way!!!!!!!!!
If he learned to ride like he learned to spell, then god help all of us

ARRRGH!!!!!

Im only 21, and i remember being 17, i wanted so badly to get a bike, because it meant i wouldnt have to catch the bus to school while still on my Ls, but my parents and friends talked me into waiting till i had my full car licence, and it was the best move i ever made.

after writing one car off, me lessons were learned, I was no longer bullet proof. It was possible to crash while being 'responsible', and now i am a better rider because i know that at any moment i could be killed by some fuktard, and im cautious as hell.

this kid needs to learn that lesson, and unfortunately will probably kill himself in the process. Its a bit sad really
