Re: Gearsack Rack
Nah it doesn't spin. Its stuck good and tight. Had to get the hacksaw onto it after I stripped the head with the screwdriver, still wouldn't budge.
Figured it could stay there until I really need to get in there and then I'll drill through it.

Re: Gearsack Rack
I think the guy I bought the bike off followed that last one, but forgot to back off half a turn at the end. I'm going to have to drill through the screws holding the belly on if I ever want it off.
Will let you know how it goes.

Re: Gearsack Rack
That's pretty much how it was explained by the guy at the shop.
I'll have a look at it on the weekend and see if I can nut it out. I was just a little worried about trying to attach it somewhere that will snap off as soon as I put something in the bag. Thanks for the tips though

Re: Gearsack Rack
Tim, I think they are all the same? The shop guy reckons it'll fit but I'm not quite sure of the best place to attach it to on the bike. I have a rough idea, but I figured if I could get a look at a couple already attached I can work it out. I just didn't want to go bolting to something that won't ...

Re: Gearsack Rack
waynemorgan, Would you be able to post a couple of pictures so I can see how you've attached it? Just trying to work out where is the best place to bolt it to.

Re: Gearsack Rack
They had another rack there. Had a bit of rust on it, but he only wanted $35 for it. He might post it?

Gearsack Rack
Hi again. Been a while since I've been on here.
I'm in my final year of a teaching degree, and decided that I'm probably going to need a way to cart all my books to school and back so I started looking into getting a luggage rack for my gpx 250. From what I could find out, the Ventura racks were ...

Re: Near Miss
Reedy; The stay upright courses sound like something I would be interested in. Are they run by the one company around aus, or would the guys who did the learner course be the ones to see about it? I have heard about them, but haven't got around to looking them up.

Re: Near Miss
Yeah the first one was going around a corner in the hills, I decided I was taking it too fast and tried to slow down mid-corner. The front wheel didn't feel like leaning and stopping at the same time. :P
I'm hoping that these two will be enough, and I wont have to actually hurt myself before I ...

I'm not that great at telling stories, and I tend to do a lot of hand-wavy things while I do it, so this might be a little confusing.
So I had a bit of a tumble on the way home the other day. I was turning left through one of those 'turn left at any time' corner lanes at a red light. I figured ...

Re: Knee Armour
I'm in Adelaide so I guess not.
Thanks though.
Do many stores keep this kind of thing in stock, or would I have to order online? I might have a look around, see if they fit before I decide. They do sound like the kind of thing I want. It can't hurt to have a bit more armour on.

Re: Knee Armour
I realise that leathers would be the safest option and I do have a locker, which I could stash them in (currently using it to keep my jacket in when I'm there all day. It's a bit too small for my helmet though) if it came to that, but I just didn't really want the extra hassle.
Which is why I ...

Knee Armour
Hi, I've been lurking for a while now, only started riding late last year. Mostly just commuting into uni but will occasionally venture into the hills. I've been looking into getting some pants (currently am just wearing normal jeans), but don't want to wear leathers around campus (or muck around ...
