In terms of modifying the ZXR can better rear shocks be put on it? And if so what's a ball-park price for that? Another mod that'd be cool is a different headlight fairing, anyone done that?

Thanks for the HUGE lot of advice guys. It's still a tough decision 'cos obviously the ZX - series are a much beloved set of bikes. I like the idea of maybe going for one of the newer gen ZX6s (99 or 2000) al la NovaCoder's sig - the red "rising-sun" paint and graphics look shithot!

Alternately i ...

ZX What?!

The days on my P restrictions are almost up and as such I'll be able to upgrade in the beginning of 2006. The GPX as basic as it is has began a bit of a love-affair with the lime green brand for me and of course that leaves me wondering what higher capacity kwakka I should upgrade to.. Price is a ...

re: GPX Streetfighter

Some of those images from Mike-S didn't look so bad, if you just remove the mid-section it seems to keep a bit of toughness. Even the uglified one looked alright

I'm pretty tempted to try it out, for one thing I'm jack of the windscreen directing wind straight into my face on the hwy.

GPX Streetfighter

Any GPX owners here toyed with removing some of the fairings to create a more streetfighter look? Was thinking that if you removed the side fairings but added some kind of bracket to allow you to keep the bottom fairing on securely you'd create a pretty mean looking machine...

Sorry, just bored ...

re: The upgrade, ZX6R or 7R?

Actually I have found my $6Kish price might be a little high - it's what I'vbe been seeing on bikesales which often seems to attract people wanting high prices for some reason, but trading post prices on the other hand seem to be the the mid $5K range, go figure. Either way with some haggling I ...

re: The upgrade, ZX6R or 7R?

Mmmm, a few more things to consider..I'm about 6 foot tall, so perhaps a larger bike might be more comfy? I guess it still comes down to the ol' tyre kick session.

I-K: as for my uncle's bike I can always ask if he's prepared to part with it, I assume you can arrange for it to be transported from ...

re: The upgrade, ZX6R or 7R?

Hehe, I thought about that just after my last posting. I guess with Kwakkas being renowned for having bullet-proof motors any ones I'd be likely to find at the wreckers are probably gonna be like my uncles, any other type of bizarre damage under the sun but pristine motors. For the months of assin ...

Boring out ZXR250?

This might be a crazy idea but would it be viable to bore a ZXR250 into a 400cc or higher? And if so what kind of costs are we talking?

re: The upgrade, ZX6R or 7R?

Something of a development is that I found out my Uncle still has his crash-damaged 97 ZX6R, the bike's a writeoff but apparently the motor wasn't damaged in the accident (just the swingarm, ducktail, rear frame etc). Would it be worth finding a 97 ZX6R with a blown motor and fixing it from that? If ...

re: The upgrade, ZX6R or 7R?

Fair advice, I do a bit of commuting around the city so perhaps a newer, slicker 600 is the go..I suppose it's one of those things, closer to the time I'll have to become the dreaded tyre kicker and test ride a bunch of bikes to find the best fit - and buy myself a green jacket and helmet :D

re: The upgrade, ZX6R or 7R?

Thanks for that, I guess I'll have to start factoring it all in: how much I have to add for insurance etc. But looks like ZX7R's a winner.

The upgrade, ZX6R or 7R?

Hey there, I'm sure this is a fairly common topic but what the hey. With my restrictions being lifted at the end of this year I'm looking around at what my best upgrade options are. So far the main contenders are either a 97 ZX6R or the same year ZX7R with the average price being $6000 and $7000 ...

Another new member

Hey there, heard about this forum from a few of the members at netrider and thought I'd get involved.

And am definately looking forward to a few more kwakka specific discussions as I'm currently on the ol' panther - black GPX two-fiddy - but like most am making it a mission to get an even ...
