Remember that Aussie spedo's have to be accurate to within 10%

this means that while it COULD be reading your exact speed, even with a new speedo you could be + or - 10% of your indicated speed.

so for 270km/h indicated, thats anywhere from 243km/h to 297km/h

To farking fast for our roads anyway ...

I had my 89 GPZ900 up to 220km/hr once, but the model should do 240-250kph tops.

Had my 84 GPZ250 (belt-driven) up to 150kph with pillion on.

Haven't really tested the ZZR1200 properly, but have had it at 250kph with pillion. The thing should do 275-280kph (corrected). In stock form, and ...

Re: re: R1 Chase.

Just think guys. Unless I'm mistaken and Yamaha has another bike in its range that matches the R1 in straight line speed/acceleration ... and I don't think they do ... Kawasaki has 3 current bikes that meet or even beat it ... being the Zx10R, Zx12R, and the ZZR1200.

Can't get better than that in ...

re: GPZ900?

I've still got my GPZ900R (see pic), even after my recent purchase of a ZZR1200, basically because I still love her.

You will find the 900 in just about every top 10 Best Bikes (all categories and Kawasaki) lists ... it was considered that good! Most Kawasaki lists over the years in the press ...

re: who's got the most mileage??

My other bike, the 89 GPZ900R has approx. 93 000km on it, 23 000 of those done in Japan, the rest by moi. And the motor is still in good nick and the pipes are still original!

What do I win?

Greetings everyone!

Been a member of the Hangmore Club (Hi Simmo!) for the past couple of years and have been meaning to also join up with you guys for some time, given I've been a Kwaka man thus far in my life and can't see that changing in the foreseaable future.

Started off on a ripper of ...
