Re: ZX9 Rubber

Ran Pilot Powers on my 2002 model (190). Outstanding, IMO. Excellent life and grip. Got 14,000km out of a rear with mixed use. But then I'm a lot gentler on tyres than most, for some reason - despite riding just as quick. ;)

91 RON.

That's what it's designed to run on, and anything more than that will just cost more money and possibly make it run like ass.

Second GPX in the house now, and they both do the same thing with premium: hard to start, stall when cold, zero performance advantage. Stick to the regular stuff ...

Re: Im now power wheeling!

Ive just put on new chain and sprockets on my 99 zx6 and went up 3 teeth on the rear and now it power wheelies with ease :D Still dont have the balls to go to high though. 8)

Hehehe - good on ya! I reckon most bikes are geared way too high for the road, and my new one is certainly no ...

Got to admit that all 9's are not at their best below 3k revs - then again what are you doing going that slow ??

Trying to keep my license. :P

Problem is, stock gearing means you're still under 3k RPM at 30-40km/h - that's rather irritating around town! I'd say change your gearing and the ...

Didn't buy mine - still for sale though! ;)

I found once I took the mesh off the stock air filter and put an aftermarket exhaust on the problem wasn't as bad as initially. I got a guru to tune her up and that helped too. It was still there, but definitely a lot better.

If I was keeping the bike, I ...

As always (with the except of one or two bikes) the advantages of full-system over slip-on aren't huge - 5hp, and a kilo or two at best....

:? a full Ti system will weigh about 1/3 of a stock steel system. Its way more than just a kilo or 2 . I lost almost 6 kilograms when changing the stock ...

34/40 road. 30/30 track.

:)

These pressures helped me get 14,000km out of a Pilot Power rear, so must be doing something right.

If that's worth an extra $800US to you, go for your life. Some people like customising their bike - others spend the money buying a faster bike. ;) Up to you ...

I'm with QBE, Shannon’s wouldn't touch me as I ride everyday - apparently this does not make me a motoring enthusiast ;)

+1.

Shannons advertising is retarded. 'Enthusiasts' are apparently people who look at their bike, not people who ride it. :P

Not a chance it's legal, IMO. But odds of getting busted for it are pretty slim too, so if you're keen: go for it. ;)

Bikes usually need a fender @ such and such angle from the centre of the rear wheel + such and such distance from the rear wheel, etc, etc. The idea is to stop throwing too much ...
