Re: Speed Camera NSW
The cameras on the F3 etc are for monitoring truck drivers fatigue, to make sure they are not driving more KM's than they are allowed without taking appropriate breaks. They do not measure speed.
The M5 and M7 have been able to do point to point speed checks from the day they were opened. There is ...

Re: Key Found
Any local Police station will do, regardless of state. It would only take me about five seconds to find the owner. Unfortunately it isn't legal for me to do so unless you came into see me at work haha.

Re: How NOT to clean your chain Warning VERY Graphic
This may be a dumb question but how do you let it idle while in gear? Wouldn't the bike stall? Never tried to do it that way, I put it up on the centre stand and rotate the chain by moving the rear wheel manually. Much safer IMHO.

Coppers might do bugger all as no offence has been committed as such
Flat out aggrevated assault. Or, it would be here.
Yep, exactly right. You don't have to actually be hit for it to be an offence. If you believed you were going to be assaulted then its an assault.

Re: Who'd be a police motorcyclist ??
He is blocking a lane to allow the ambulance easy access to the motorway. It wouldn't have made a difference if he was on a bike or in a car, the yellow motorist just isn't paying attention. There is no criticism as to what the officer was doing. Traffic control on a motorway is extremely dangerous ...

I'm in general duties. If I was highway patrol it may be different as they have a specific job to do and you can't go letting everyone off.

If the money from fines went into the Police budget we'd be spending all day handing out fistfulls of them. Policeman's ball? Good one!

Re: Riding with unlicenced riders / people on unregistered bikes
From a legal stand point the only person who can get pinched by the law is the rider. You are not committing an offence by riding with an un-rider, even if you are aware of their status. You are however more likely to draw attention to the group. If that means you are more likely to get someone go ...

Re: NSW police threaten to waive fines
Word of advice too. Don't go telling the cops "You can't book me, it's a fine free period!"
Aus636 it's a shame that not all of us stick to our guns. You get a few muppets in every job.

Re: NSW police threaten to waive fines
There wont be any tickets given out while this is running. A guy at my station gave one out during the last fine free week and the verbal earbashing he got from everyone else was enough to discourage the next person who may have got a bit happy with his pen.

Re: ZZR250 idling fast
I found that knob when cleaning the bike, I thought it was a screw so I undit it as far as I could. I was trying to get all the various pieces off the bike to give it a good cleaning. Took me a while to figure out why the bike wouldn't run!

Re: ZZR250 cold start
Took the bike in to get looked at, mainly because the battery died and I was too busy to replace it myself. Turns out the carby's were filthy and now the bike is much easier to start from cold. I have a choke that I can adjust finally!

Re: min requirements
Take it from someone in the job, you can't book a bike rider for wearing shorts. The ONLY requirement is a helmet that complies with the australian safety standards and is displaying the sticker. It is an offence to remove the sticker. I have no idea what offence they would have written on the ...
