Re: Another ZRX

Still tinkering away on the ZRX. Fitted the shiny new bar risers last week and the new front Arashi wave discs finally rocked up (5 week delivery ftl!) so fitted them the other night.

Clocked up 400km on it this morning riding from Perth to Geraldton. Started to get a little stiff around the 350km ...

Re: Another ZRX

Oil filler cap mate. Item on the right is a storage tray for pod users from Kwick. Unfortunately Ted had stopped making his one by the time I needed one so have been waiting patiently for Kwick to make his version.

Fitted it this arvo - very happy with it. No longer have to have an occy strap ...

Re: Another ZRX

The new shiny bits rocked up from my little Kwik/Couch christmas shopping spree. Still waiting on one of Greg's replacement 2 piece sprocket covers also.
I reckon this lot should keep me busy for a couple of days anyway. 8)

Re: Another ZRX

Yep that's the one mate, but looks like the price has gone all the way back up to retail now unfortunately. Pretty sure I saw on brocks website they have 10% off at the moment so might even be worth buying from them directly.

The actual cost of shipping was only $60 through USPS (says so on the ...

Re: Another ZRX

Got the pipe from nicecycle.com, as they were already a good 10% cheaper than everywhere else, then got a further 10% off during the black Friday sales. Shipping was a bit more than their site estimated, but it was still only $150 so not too bad.

Pretty good service also, quick on the email replies ...

Re: KDX-250 vs TS-200

haha didn't offend at all mate, old shitters are the best fun you can have offroad I reckon.
Such a blast being able to ride something to (and beyond lol) its limits - not something the majority of the population could do on newer machinery

The stuff you are looking at are rolls royces in ...

Re: KDX-250 vs TS-200

I'd go the kwaka just for the aftermarket availability mate. You can still get every part known to man kind for the KDXs as they have a huge following.

The TS on the other hand is an orphan. And this is coming from someone who owns a TS shitter :P

Re: Another ZRX

Just watch your chain tension with the flipped eccentrics. If it gets too loose, it rubs on the lower rails of the swingarm. Mine has a nice pair of grooves worn into it from this. :x

Thanks for the tip mate, will keep an eye on it.

Just got back from a long ride. Bike is running perfectly ...

Re: Another ZRX

Still letting the pads bed in so have't used them in anger yet, but the difference already is like night & day. Nice and firm feel at the lever and way better stopping power.
The old 6 pots I really had to squeeze on to pull up in a hurry. I reckon I'd go over the bars if I used the same amount of ...

Re: Another ZRX

Great success :kuda:

Had the carbs off the bike in ten minutes flat first thing this morning. Sooooooooo much less fucking around with pod filters compared to the airbox. Even managed to keep the pod filters on the carbs throughout the entire process so I didn't have to try and refit the bastard ...

Re: Another ZRX

I'm hoping it'll be easier second time round (I can dream...)

Getting the bastard pod filters to stay on the carbs actually proved to be the biggest challenge, the normal sized hose clamps they came with were useless as they would just slide off soon as you start to do them up. Ended up using cable ...

Re: Another ZRX

Bit more reading and I found issue #2.... I had the left hand coil plugged the wrong way around. Swapped the red/black wires over and its running better again. It will actually idle now (rough as guts still - but an idle none the less) which is a good sign.

It is still pissing fuel out the LH vent ...

Re: Another ZRX

Alright... after reading through the manual I've just figured out I had the 2 carb vents joined to each other which wouldn't have been helping things

Starts up much easier now, however fuel is pissing out the left hand vent hose.
