I agree that pinging would occur under load aswell which is why I went to the touble of changing the timing chain at 14,000km first because pinging never even entered my mind, but it was only fixed after getting premium fuel through the system, so I cant have any other explanation for ...

ZZR 250 pinging?

Hi, Just wondering whether anyone has ever had trouble with a ZZR 250 pining on decelleration through 7000-8000 rpm?
My bike started rattling slightly after I had given up on premium unleaded after reading mixed reviews, I was origianally unaware that it was pinging, I just thought of it as a valve ...

First of all welcome to ksrc, and second, good choice of bike, I love mine.
I bought my '02 model for $4000 with about 9000km's on it and I reckon I'll put heaps more on it before I even consider getting rid of it. Pay no attention to the knocking on start up, it scared me out of buying the first ...

won't be going to P.I for the w/e, might go one year but I have to say that I would rather just ride bikes, not overly interested in watching them,probably makes me an outcast here but oh well

Hi all,
New to the forims and just wanting to say hello :D , I live in Central VIC, ride a ZZR 250 and can't wait to go on some interesting rides(Mrs permitting ;) ). Untill then will keep reading with great interest. 8)
