i take my little bike to 'Japanese motorcycles and dismantlers' on churchill rd. they see a few of these things come thru, and do rebuilds at a decent price. id recomend having a chat to them. shud go for a cruise when ya get it sorted.

ok i got it sorted now i rekon.

the plug on this thing, whatever it is, had burnt out. i have not fixed it properly yet, all i did was clean it up and put some special grease on it.

i will go and try to find this mystical 'battery' now. and do what you said.
the reason i was leaning toward the alternator is when i first got it when id rev it from idle the lights would get brighter abit, but now they slowly go from dim to nothing while riding, no ...
