Re: zzr1100 best mods???????

Great stuff! The difference is incredible, hey?

Just be aware of the increased seat height. Also, it's now a loooong way down to the side stand, so try to park with the stand "uphill". Some blokes attach a small block to the bottom of the stand.

Happy riding!

Re: zzr1100 best mods???????

Yep, the axle sits in a cam that is used to tension the chain. Stock, the axle is at the top of the cam. As said above, you simply rotate it so the axle is now at the bottom, as pictured.

Re: zzr1100 best mods???????

The only mod I've done is the axle-flip. All other mod's were on the bike when I bought it so I can't help with a place / cost for the shock, sorry.

Google is your friend. :)

Re: zzr1100 best mods???????

Axle flip. Lifts the back of the bike about 30mm, effectively changing the rake of the forks.

Makes the bike tip into corners sooooooooooo much better. A whole new bike!

Warning: This also lifts the seat (about 20mm).

My bike also has braided front brake lines and a White Power nitrogen-charged ...

Re: RIP Solitary Man

Sorry to hear of your loss, mate. Making that decision must have been tough. It was truly beautiful that you gave him such an amazing last day and I don't think there's a pet owner here who hasn't shed a tear over a lost animal. (Sh*t, I'm doing it now and I don't even KNOW you!)

With respect to ...

Re: what is wrong with women who ride?

I love it that Mrs Tree rides. Actually, we got our licences at the same time. She understands the passion that drives bikers and (I believe) is more inclined to allow money to be spent on the bikes than a non-biker wife would.

Just to add, I don't believe in "boys only" rides. What with the need ...

He was both. As crazy as he seemed, no one can take anything away from his musical genius.

Hopefully, now his kids can have a semi-normal life.

Markesh - Thanks. She's reasonably tidy, but what you can't see are all the stone chips in the front end. Up until a couple of months ago, she was my daily rider. We live in a rural area, so she copped a hiding. When I first bought her, she was immaculate. The previous owner kept her under a blanket ...

Re: lost my job

Sorry to hear about your job, mate.

I work in the brick industry. We've just gone through a six week shutdown with everyone being sent home on forced holidays. All the brick manufacturers in Brisbane have had shutdowns or closures. Not good at all.

The United Colours of Harlequin

Here's a collection of pic's I took of my big girl after giving her a wash yesterday. The ever-changing colours never cease to amaze me.

I actually never had a problem with getting her up onto the centre stand. I find Mrs Tree's ZZR 250 harder to do, as the grab handle on the 250 is under the side fairing, not under the seat as ...

Re: ZZR1100 manufactured 12/00 less than 4000 KLMS

+1 on keeping the paint original.

If you've got some dollars to throw at it, put a set of Gixxer 6-pot front calipers on it, then upgrade the suspension and pay to have it set up properly for your weight. I've got a WP nitrogen-charged rear shock on the back. I've had several mechanics want to ...
