Re: Scooter riders and Gear

I have a shameful habit of wearing jeans around town. Ordinary, soft, tearable jeans. Okay, I have gloves, jacket, boots, helmet, but I fall short on the pants. Though I justify it by quoting a half-remembered study that found Draggins didn't actually help that much more than jeans above about 50kms ...

Re: Mick C's Long Way Home.....

Bloody good stuff Gos.
Must make it out for a Friday long way home soon - work has been a sonofabitch lately, though, so getting away early enough is a problem.

Re: Is This Too Harsh ??

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me, Gos.
Navigation isn't hard, fer chrissake, even friggin' pigeons can do it! I can - probably - see a use for GPS in cases where you have to get to a lot of different unfamiliar addresses everyday, (and it's bloody handy when flying) but it just seems like a ...

Re: Top 50 cornering bikes

Not a bad read I guess, but it's a seriously flawed premise.
It's not about the 50 objectively best bikes at anything - just 50 bikes that the judges liked to ride.

The poms (and a token European in this case) often seem to come up with odd crap like this.
Maybe something to do with the ...

Re: Stuffed New Bridgestone

I've heard of a few Bridgestones losing big chunks out of the tread recently - delaminating up to a third of the tyre in some cases, apparently. Haven't seen one, but the rumour alone was enough to put me off buying another 014, even allowing for the usual 80% bullshit factor.

Anyway, this ...

Re: Everyone loves a fatboy

I've thought about buying a H-D irrigation pump. I wondered if an 883 Sporty might make a reasonable commuter bike and the thought of using a Milwaukee boat anchor as such tickled my sense of humour. The 883s are fairly inoffensive to ride - in a farty, floaty sort of way - and the Harley crowd tend ...

Re: Flying Motorcycle

Must have been a slow news day - gyrocopters have been around forever. Dangerous farkers they are, basically rotary wing ultralights. Maybe the fact that he's also got it road registered is what makes it slightly different, so now he has a machine that's crap at both roles, driving or flying!

Re: Bring it back!!!

I nod to all and sundry on anything that could reasonably be called a motorcycle (although it's more of an odd diagonal motion). Always have, always will.

I seem to get a fair few nods back, but I don't really give a shit if I do or not. Others might choose to be uncivil (or just off in their own ...

Re: Sponsors, whats it worth.?

I reckon the more money you take for paid advertising, the less incentive there is for sponsors (who then become advertisers, a significant change in status) to give good deals to forum members. Sure, members might still get an okay deal, but if said advertisers have had to pay to get their business ...

Yeah, Sgt Kelly, I think it was. More of the Ned Kelly in him than Sgt Kelly, though.
One of NSW Pleece's finest exponents of country coppering - don't reckon he paid for a steak or a beer in over thirty years.

Re: My P's are approaching .... I have a question !

My licence test was done in country NSW about 25 years ago:
"How did you get here?"
"Rode me bike."
"How many times did ya fall off?"
"None!"
"Good-o, sign here thanks."

It was a simpler (and more lethal) time...

Actually, it was closer to 27 years ago...

Fark, ignore this thread for a couple of weeks and it turns into monkey porn!

But thanks for raising the calibre of the argument, Gos.

Kristy! Buy the farking 10, if you want one. Personally, I think it's an unnecessary extravagance for a n00b. Don't much care if you disagree. Don't much care if ...

Re: The lusty new ZX6

Yup, a low km '06 636 might be worth your while to take for a ride. Cheaper and slightly better for road use (in my opinion, anyway). Not a huge difference though, so if only new will do, then go for an '07. I've had my '06 for about 6 months and still find myself liking it a little more every time ...
