Ikon rear shocks
Gents,
Time to replace (original) shockies on the '77, Z1000, got into corner little bit hot and I struggled when the rear started wallowing. Looking at Ikon 7610 series, price seems ok, any experience out there with them?

Re: Crankcase breather
Ok, just checked, my mistake, breather tube comes into air box AFTER the air filter so maybe indicates a filter is required?

Crankcase breather
'77 Z1000, have removed carbies and air box, K&N pods on new Keihin carbs.
What to do about crancase breather tube? Internal of air box very clean so no issues with oil/sludge, I think breather filter is unnecessary. Thought I might run stiff tube 2 or 3 inches straight up (to let any oil mist ...

Re: 1977 z1000 a1 - modifications
Hey Kwakked Up, just fitting Keinin carbs with K&N pods similar to yours, been told that side covers may blow off due to turbulence created when original air box stuff removed to make room for the pods. Have you had this problem and if so how did you fix?

Re: 1977 z1000 a1 - modifications
Thanks mate, no worries just shit stirring you a bit, I was hoping the Z900 light would look so good I would decide 'Yep, thats the one' but now it has made the decision a hard one. Was it easier to fit onto the eliminator than the Z1000 light? Considering I have the Z1000 and it does seem to fill ...

Re: 1977 Z1000 - Exhaust note
Well, have kept the original pipes, Terry at Redline Exhausts has worked his magic on the original mufflers and am very happy with the sound and performance. Would recommend him to all (if you're in Adelaide) and price was excellent.

Re: 1977 z1000 a1 - modifications
Thanks mate, the picture is enough to give me an idea of the look, much appreciated. I had been thinking about it and like Gos thought that maybe the 900 oval tail light would look better tucked up into the ducktail than the original, more thinking and decisions too make

Re: 1977 z1000 a1 - modifications
Kwakked Up, have been pondering on my '77 Z1000 whether to cut away half of rear mudguard, install new LED strip brake light under ducktail top edge and make new number plate bracket and suddenly your picture pops up showing mudguard taken off. Can you post photo of rear of bike which will give me ...
