Bike looks great Gosling!
That mass finishing stuff looks incredible too. I wonder if anyone in Adelaide does that kinda work. I'm thinking of cleaning or shining up the side covers on my little 100 while the engine's apart but can't decide whether to get them blasted or painted or just buffed up.

Re: KH100 gearbox question
Hi Gosling1,
You have been super helpful so far. I must say a big thank you.
I picked this thing up in a sad state so I am not sure as to mods to the carb but I guess the idea of paying it some attention was just in case it had been modded. I am tending to think there have been no mods, and my ...

Re: KH100 gearbox question
Every time I start to lose patience with this thing - this is my only bike, and my first resto/doer-upperer - I take a look at this photo to remind me how far the little thing has come.
Look at it! What a rust bucket.

Re: KH100 gearbox question
Cheers Gosling! 99% is good enough for me. I gave myself a 90% chance so using our collective logic I think we are onto a winner. Fingers crossed. :)

Re: KH100 gearbox question
I should clarify. The KH100 stopped being sold (maybe?) in the USA in 1977 so Kawasaki.com only shows parts diagrams up until then. I've since got a parts diagram from my Kwakka dealer (only the transmission, forgot about the whole bottom end. silly me.) and they seem to match with the 76/77. I ...

Re: KH100 gearbox question
Cheers folks. I'm alternating hot and cold on what to do next. Still waiting for the needed parts list from my rebuild guy.
robracer, you wouldn't happen to have some links to bucket forums would you? i wouldn't know where to start.

Re: KH100 gearbox question
Thanks guys. Just the paint and the muffler is new. The chrome is a bit pitted but it's otherwise not bad.
Any ideas on how I might find out whether the gearbox in a 79 is the same as a 91? You can't get parts numbers from Kawasaki online for anything pre 1984 so it makes it difficult.

KH100 gearbox question
Hey everyone.
I ventured into restoring a KH100EL and being my first bike with no mechanical experience I did it backwards. In hindsight I should have rebuilt the whole engine to begin with and then dealt with making it pretty.
Alas, here it is: pretty but needs a complete rebuild. This has me in ...
