Re: DIY Carbon Fibre

How hard or easy it is depends on how well you want the finished product to look.
If you just want something of roughly the correct shape, that performs its intended function adequately, and don't care about how it looks, then it's pretty easy.
On the other hand, if you want it to look like a ...

Re: Brake disc grinding?

Rear disks aren't usually a problem, they tend to be a bit thicker, smaller diameter, and more importantly, non floating.
To machine the front disks properly they need removing from the carriers, assuming they are the normal riveted type pins, this would necessitate new pins and re-riveting after ...

Re: tuono zrx or z1000?

I've owned all three, '03ZRX, '05Z1000 and currently own an '07Tuono. They are all very different bikes. The V2 or new V4 Tuono wont get you 200ks without filling up, so you can discount those straight away, but if you ride the new V4 Tuono and have the cash, you will buy it, don't expect your ...

Re: Australia Post, no, Lost

Going through a similar thing myself atm. I cannot believe the ineptitude of Aus post.
Bought a camera from South Aus, was sent registered and insured, to my post office box.
Never arrived, yet it was "delivered" and they had a signature. The people in the post office say it wasn't delivered to them ...

Re: The Fuel Truth

I can't tell any difference in any of the premium fuels on the bike, but the Van, the fourby and the boat I can.
They are all log-booked, and monitored, and the difference stands out like dogs balls. You can see patterns over a long period of time, which I think is quite telling. The van and the ...

I wonder if a 12R motor would fit into a ZRX chassis ??? :partyman:
There are a few tidy looking busa engined rex's getting round, so I can't see any reason a 12r motor couldn't be 'made to fit'.

Re: 2 Stroke Spares & Tools

Doesn't sound to me like oil fouling, sounds like too rich mixture.
If you go to less oil, 50:1 as opposed to 32:1, you will probably have to go down a size on the main jet, and drop the needle a notch, as the bike will be running too rich.
Sounds counter intuitive I know, but think of it like this ...

Re: Big strips

I went out for a ride on Saturday, ended up at Springbrook, to get there you have to go down some pretty twisty roads.
I saw these parked up and wondered how they got there, as far as I'm concerned, it would be impossible to be there with tyres looking like that, must have had their bikes airlifted ...
