After Marco Melandri, it was Max Biaggi's turn to meet the fans at the Bologna Motorshow on Friday afternoon. As the future of the Italian veteran is still unsure and surrounded by speculation, his appearance at the show was eagerly awaited... but didn't learn much to his fans.

Biaggi indicated that he could join Kawasaki Racing: "Bridgestone confirmed to me that there wouldn't be any problem about getting me some tyres. The team, Kawasaki, is aware of that and so is the sponsor, Camel. So basically I told them I was available, now we'll have to wait and see what happens."

The Italian also talked about his split with Honda and his complicated relationship with the Japanese factory during last season. And he made clear that he was determined to race next year, asking to his fans: "Would you really like to see Max Biaggi riding as a test-rider?"

The extra rider wouldnt hurt things and after the pizzling he copped all round the other teams he might pull his head in a bit and have a go, its all the winging and crying and the expectations that let him down.

It will be a cold day in hell before he beats rossi but you never know riders do fall off at times and i would like to see the green machine up there dicing maybe he will have a go. :D

Of course they should have a industrial bin with a lock on it and if looks like mouthing off just upend him into it and lock it and push him out the gate and maybe leave him in there for a couple of days but i think the other teams have already done that.

Its a can of worms just wait and see the other thing is you dont want him taking out the other team riders :( and we have seen that before.

I reckon it'd be great to see him bring all his sponsor's money to Kawasaki for development and then get soundly flogged by his team mates in races.

Dunno if it'd happen that way, though.

As others have said, it'd be a good thing just for the cash injection. If he ends up at the back of the field and continually whinges, so what? Everyone knows he blames the machinery anyway.

Rumour is that Max is on his way out... He tends to rub people up the wrong way and is always complaining about his bike... He is however supposedly very smart technically...

You never know how well a team and a rider are going to Gell.....

To tell you the truth, although he seems like a cock I think he may have some valid input into what could be a great bike...

Technically he is a great rider...

Hopefully he can "bring it on"....
The world is round. It has no point.

This from motorcycle daily
"The MotoGP "silly season" has drawn to a close, and all the key players for 2006 are in place, save one. For weeks MotoGP enthusiasts have been left wondering "what about Biaggi?".

After leaving the Repsol Honda squad, 13-time 500GP/MotoGP race winner Max Biaggi found that Honda had ordered that none of its satellite teams were permitted to hire him. After the rumors said that Yamaha had also rebuffed feelers from Biaggi's management, fans began to wonder if the former front runner would be able to secure a ride for 2006 at all.

European press sources are now reporting that Biaggi had nearly completed a deal with Harold Eckl's factory Kawasaki squad, only to find that Bridgestone was not interested in supplying tires for an additional rider next season. If the deal had gone through, Biaggi would have been teamed with current Kawasaki racers Shinya Nakano and Randy du Puniet.

Apparently the deal with Kawasaki was very close to completion, and Biaggi had planned to announce his 2006 ride to the Italian press at the Bologna Motor Show, which opens December 8th. Both Biaggi and Kawasaki were reportedly very surprised when the verdict came down from Bridgestone - no one had expected tires to make or break the proposed deal.

If Bridgestone has refused to support another rider for Kawasaki, it is likely that it would do the same for Suzuki - nixing any possibility of Biaggi picking up a ride there. That leaves only the small non-factory efforts - D'Antin Ducati, Team Roberts, and WCM - as possibilities for "The Roman Emperor".

To the fans, Biaggi is a "love him or hate him" kind of personality. Still, it seems surprising that a man with a record of 13 wins, 58 podium finishes, 23 pole positions, and 14 fastest race laps should have such difficulty finding a ride in MotoGP.

The max is okay with bridgestone part is newer than the bridgestone wont suport another rider thread which is why i posted it in the racing section.

Who knows whats going to happen to max he is in the wheeliebin of motogp but he has a record of winning a few races here and there and a truckload of money following him around.

I believe there is suposed to be some sort of anouncement soon ( 15th i believe) and I wouldnt think that bridgestone has already made the race tyres for the next motogp season just yet.

Max is just an egotistical wanker who can ride well on the odd occasion.

He will never ride a Kawasaki in MotoGP, he will just end up rotting in the Italian SB Champs next year on a 2nd-rate ex-WCM Yamaha.

You heard it here first  ( well, everything apart from the *Max is a wanker* bit  )
