How much did you have to pay your mailman to be so nice to you?
I would love one of those for my 1200. I think I will be keeping mine- they're worth nothing now. I saw one at Allbikes last weekend identical to mine for $10000.....mine owes me over 20k, and is still tidy so I would be crazy to sell it so cheap.... :(
2 X ZRX1200R 4 X ER6N, GT550, 1988 ZX-10, 4 X GPZ250R, 4 X GPZ900R and GPZ750R :) Yeah I like Kawasakis.

Hmmmmm yeah you're right about that. A mate of mine used to work there.........and they're right A-holes......haven't been too impressed myself either. ZZR is advertised on their website for $11500, which is a little better.

Hi Bonester The cost $699.00 US and about $40.00 AU to get it here, if you buy just the shock it just scrapes under the $1000.00 threshold for Oz customs.
I have just given the bike a wash and now I am off for a ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just out of interest...Why did you buy that shock/spring?

Don't get me wrong...there's nothing wrong with it or anything....just wanted to know the reasoning behind the purchase.

What do you expect it to do for you and did you specify the application or did they ask what it is you were doing with it?
I live with fear everyday but on weekends she lets me ride.

No I think your safe Tack, twas aimed at someone else!

The reason I bought the Ohlins is because the rear suspension on the ZZR is quite harsh, dont get me wrong it still does the job, but this one does it better.
The Ohlins 46ERS shock is designed for the ZZR.
The difference is not night and day but subtle, over large bumps it doesnt give you the kick in the arse that the old one did,and over ripples and small bumps the bike dosent get unsettled, it just feels more controlled.
I bought this brand of shock because there are not many manufacturers out there that make a rear shock for the ZZR, and buying it from the US, Ohlins re spring the shock to your weight.
Thats why it took so long to get here (over 3 months) the spring had to come from Sweden.

So could you have just changed the spring rate?

That Ohlins spring "looks" approximately like its a 200lb/in spring so I assume that the original was 300lb/in?

Yes, but the valving would have needed work as well, I was quoted around $500.00 to do this including a new spring.
The Ohlins has a lot more adjustment than the stock item.
