Most of this extra weight is the centrestand

20kgs makes for one majorly engineered centerstand!

Just watch em walk out the door, but I cant help thinking the big K's taking the easy & obvious route.

Like Dave (Gosling1) says

Basically, this thing is a stretched, heavier, bored-out version of a ZX12, with *basically* the same chassis, same engine with a bigger bore, same forks with slightly re-worked internals to cope with more weight, better wheels, and different cosmetics. Oh, and a Centre-stand, grab rails, no pillion cowl ( but a comfortable pillion seat - a-la ZZR-style), and 2 huge exhausts.......

So nothing more than just a bigger bore ZX12R is all it seems to me. Thinking longer braking distances, higher cornering effort, more frequent chains tyres pads etc.

If you want performance then why would you go heavier + higher kw? What's the point??

On the other hand if you were put one of these new puppies on a diet....that could be very interesting.
Just one more law and everyone will be safe.

Spend a few grand on the 12R and it will walk away from the ZZR1400 if it isn't close enough already to doing that from rumoured figures. 8) Besides saving big dollars on the trade-in price changeover.

Designed to be the Busa killer that the 12R was meant to be but it got bad press at the time and biased write ups on it IMHO.
KHI have been a whole lot smarter about its release this time around
