hey people. in my recent search for a bike it has come to my attention that KSS will be no longer a kwaka dealer as of december. they are getting rid of their stock

just letting ya'll know incase u recently purchased a kawaka from them or need something

This is becoming a disturbing trend with the big "K", seems there line to dealers is you only sell Kwak or you can fark off. We'll end up with one store, having a monopoly, in each state and we'll get screwed to the wall on everything we need. Its already happening here in SA.

Yeh, the lack of Kawasaki dealerships is a real problem. Even large shops like Peter Stevens have lost (dumped?) their Kawaski franchise.

Does Kawasaki Australia have a plan for motorcycle distribution?

I currently order my Kawasaki parts via a Honda dealer!!

I wanted a Kawa ever since i noticed my first at about 8 (i think). I have bought two of them in the last year.

The other day i took my bike out to my Kawa dealer for the mechanic to have a look, i booked it in and was told i could get a loan bike for the night over the phone before-hand. When i got there (One and a quarter hour ride at quick speed) i was practically told i was an idiot by the mechanic, who went on to say he could not hear a problem with my bike and couldn't do anything about it since he couldn't hear anything, (think engine warmed up after a long ride), he wouldn't do anything. I was then told he wouldn't keep it and they didn't do loan bikes anymore. In his defence, he did put some oil on my chain and told me it was dry and a maintenance issue.

Since that time i have taken the bike to another mechanic telling him i would pay for a diagnosis but would not get him to do the work, this way i would get an unbiased opinion of the issue.

He said the ticking sound that he can hear is coming from the cam-chain and that the bike also needs a carb balance. This from a brand new bike bought in Late July, now with only 4000 k's on it. The ticking started at 1300 k's and i took the bike in to the dealer then, a mechanic at the dealer heard the sound and said if it got worse i should bring it in.

I want someone at Kawasaki to tell me how i am supposed to get a bike in for a service according to the book (yes it was serviced), when the dealerships in sydney are so unhelpful. As for the warranty on the bike, i think it is bullshit, just another company trying to take your money, then turn around and give you the finger when you want something done.

I can honestly say, the BS about the loan bike ticked me right off and the attitude of the mechanic ticked me off, then the ride out and back for no reason ticked me off, i don't know if it is just the dealership i have been dealing with or somethink Kawasaki pushes on it's dealers but i will not purchase another Kawasaki and will let anyone i know of who this dealership is and my experiences with them.

If I was this mechanic, I would have requested you kindly go and insult someone else before I lose self-control and resort to harsh language...

Think about it... what you effectively did is walk into this dude's shop and tell him, to his face, that you don't trust him, that you expect him to rip you off, and that's why you'll only let him have a portion of your business.

The reason he held his tongue might've been because he figured that if you're going to be that much of a prat, it's fitting that you should pay twice for the same job (it takes pretty much the same amount of disassembly to diagnose a mechanical problem as fix it), and that he might as well end up with some of that money.

I'm with you jew-jew. for some reason a lot of mechanics think they are far superior to everyone else. I have had many similar problems with different mechanics in the past and now i don't trust any of them. Whenever i have trusted them they fuck things up and you have to do it again anyway. I have had one bloke swear bilndly that his mechanic would never use a cold chisel to get a bearing off but when the mechanic was asked how he got my bearing off he said "WITH A COLD CHISEL". Then the stupid prick wanted $120 for the job. Guess what my response was!!!

I also hear that Peter Stevo's have lost Harley Davidson and in two years Harley will have their own shops and will no longer be dealing with Stevo's. So ya never know, Stevos may NEED Kwaka. I never have had problems in getting parts for my baby but I always go to the same place and get looked after.

Hey I-K, I think you may have misinterpreted his post.

I think he is saying that he asked the 2nd mechanic to diagnose the problem but not do the work so there could be no suggestion by the original shop that a problem had been found just so 2nd shop could benefit by getting the work.

It also appears that it would be a warranty claim so unless the 2nd place was a kawasaki dealer they couldn't do the work anyway.

That is exactly what i was trying to say,

I-K i'm no prat, the second mechanic is not able to do warranty work on a Kawa, and i called him before i went in and asked if he would do a diagnosis on warranty work for me. And offered him an hours labour to do just that, (which he refused).

He say's he can get tyres, helmets and boots cheaper than any shop, i'm going to get a new helmet off him next week.

As for the other stuff, i will try Kawasaki again
