KSRC Dealer Sponsors...

Postby MadKaw » Mon Aug 29, 2005 5:56 pm

There has been and probly still is some disenchantment with some of our existing dealer sponsors...
The initial idea was to align ourselves with 1 dealer in each state. This was as the membership was smaller and the hope it would give something back to the sponsor and therefore they offer more in return..... Well that hasn't really happened for a number of reasons so a change of thinking may be in order.
As we are growing strong and have members from all of Aus it may be better to open the doors to any dealers that want to be involved with KSRC....
So my suggestion is, next time your in your local Kawi Dealer, let them know about KSRC and ask them if they want to be involved.
They will get free advertising on the web site and forum and those that offer discounts will attract our members....

What do you guys think..???

I had that idea in mind but never dare to suggest, becoz I'm not sure which direction we are heading. And there is the issue of getting 'too commercialise', it's a thin line to walk on.

I'm currently representing a students association in dealing with sponsors. We can discuss that in further details if u wish.

If you shop at the same place you generally get good treatment anyway, particularly if they're a dealer as they reckon you'll have to buy a new bike anyway so if they help you out on bits and pieces you might go there first.

I reckon we should nominate one person in each state to go and spread the word. We can put together some type of flyer to hand to dealers regarding the membership numbers, benefits, and what we are doing to expand the site.

Should do the same at bike shows - different flyers telling people very simple and memorable stuff about the site - I am involved with the Queensland Laverda Club and their recent show at the Story Bridge would have been an ideal opportunity, as would track days, bike hangouts, and the like. It's not as if these things are out of our way as most of us are regulars at different places anyway.

I think before we do this we should really develop the front section of the site as it is a litle tacky, rarely updated and lacking content. The reason I say this is that there are plenty of forums out there (I am a member oif about half a dozen!), but not many general bike sites with good content.

A few well written articles about road craft, good technical atricles and that stuff would be great and also keep general junk questions off the forums.

Could this not be spread to more than just dealers, in reality for me to travel to the nearest dealer isn't to bad, but the service leaves a lot to be desired, so the next nearest dealer is a long way from home, not really somewhere i would just "pop" into when im out, "just for a look" and even for genuine parts, i'd probably just call and pay by credit card and get the stuff couriered out.

Can we not try and pick out a couple of reputable after market shops to cover the metro area of rach state and have them as a network type of thing, and hell yeah give them some shirt space if it means more business.

I'm a member of only one other forum and they are trying to get discounts going in shops, but its hard when you dont have a passionate leader in each state.

I also think giving the site a bit of a spruce up is a good idea

Yep, It would be nice if ppl would volunteer to help out with some of this stuff..
ie,
Updating the web site or even producing a brand new one.
Writing articles for the web site.
Making a flyer to give to Kawi dealers re sponsorship.
Making a flyer put up at shops and bike meeting points.

If you have any skills in this regard, let us know and start working on something.

Perhaps it's time to send a press release to AMCN and the like, "KSRC membership breaks the 500 mark - find out why we're the most popular Kwika group at http://www.ksrc-au.com". The we can show potential sponsors exactly how good we are and that we have true national coverage.

I'm happy to do up some articles for the web site - only problem is I don't have a bloody clue what I'm talking about!

Maybe a series from a bike newbie? I could polish up the posts I did on QRide already easily enough, then add a bit about the first few weeks with a license...

Also happy to do quick reviews of the kit I have, but they won't really have a lot of info, I have nothing to compare them to!

I'm a Graphic Designer and happy to help out with this. Someone just send me some finalised copy and I'll get to work.

I am more than happy to help with a couple of articles but my digital camera has been on the blink for 6 months, and articles without pictures aren't much good. I am happy to do a few n00b guides though, like what bike to choose and what not to do. Chalk me up on the list for that and give me a deadline :)

As far as HTML design goes my skills are pretty limited - I remember how to do paragraph breaks and that's about it :?

Actually I have some more product reviews I've been meaning to do. Might get to do them when I get back from changing Miss Felix's flat tyre

I will also volunteer for doing some of the newbie stuff, seeing as I've been on newbie rollercoaster for the last 18 months or so. And sometimes I can write stuff good  I find it varies proportionally to my consumption of coffee, and coffee related beverages :drinkers:

Better go do this tyre...
