Factory spec was ( drum roll .........) 4.00 - 18 4PR

I *think* the 4PR was *gasp* 4 ply radial ??? 4.00 = 4 inch nominal with, about equivalent to a 110/120 size :shock: :shock: they were skinny as buggery, shit compounds, and real men wrestled them into submission. :wink: You young'uns don't know how lucky youse are!!

I have a rear wheel carrier on the back of the 100 Cruiser, so if I do the same to the' 9' I could easily rotate the tyres every, say, 1000Km. A bit of lateral thinking can solve anything. Funny, can't keep the front wheel on the deck!!!

Im guesing he is talking about taking the tyre off the rim and spining it around so the the tread is facing the other direction..

Im pretty sure most if not all road tyres and uni directional. you can only run them in one direction.. Its usually to do with the tread lines for water dispearsment (sp??)

Even in dirtbikes some people to spin the tyre around if your front edge of the back tyre is wearing down.. But they never think what the back edge of the knobs do... They do all the breaking.

Yeah, or you could go to a local tyre place and get a new Pilot Power fitted and when you get home you find they have put it on the wrong way for starters :lol: :lol: :lol:

You guys , for goodness sake , always taking the piss . The tyre bloke is quite correct . You MUST rotate your tyres for optimal performance and wear . You silly duffers . Its not front to rear , thats just silly . Its more like crop rotation that our country friends do . You just have another couple of sets of tyres resting and after a short space of time you must take of the set that u are flogging about the countryside and whip em off and install a set that have been quietly resting in the garage (pays to put them under a blanky to keep them rested) and then let those poor buggers "rotate" . It is a quite sound policy . Myself I have 5 sets resting a one set out there doing it .
PS , it pays to hug your tyres too , but thats another Silly post .
