New Akrapovic Full System for the Zed !!!

Hey all...

Well its starting to get a bit cold and wet, so might as well get some more mods done in preperation for better weather in a few months...!! So I have just finished fitting a full Akrapovic twin system to the Z1000...

Weight loss of over 12 kilos and Horsepower gain of over 11.5 !!!! Win Win....

What can you say about how good Akrapovic engineering is... perfect fit everytime... Love it

More performance mods to come...

Are running a Power Commander or similar.?

Hi Dave...

I will be running a power commander, I just dont have it installed as yet.... I do have a Dynojet 02 fuel optimiser for this model ... so when I get everything I will get it fitted and mapped to suit...

Are you running something similar on yours..??

Also I have decided to re spring the rear shock.. just to take away that harshness.. The spring weight is just too hard for my weight...

I know the valving is not really great either... but I just need to soften the rear up a bit more... it really affects the front end handling...

I agree, there is nothing like an Akra , I love my 4-1 on the Z.

I couldn't handle the woeful OE shock any longer, got and Ohlins from Race Dynamics and a new world of lunacy has become available as a consequence

Nice looking system!

Just a quick one, are you running the DB killers in the Akro cans? how loud is the akro system?

I ask as I recently plumbed a set of Arrow headers on with SC Project conic mufflers and the result is very loud. I did expect the noise level to be raised but it is really elevated. On idle after warm up no dramas but when on the gas... another story. Will try with DB killers in tomorrow but atm just really loud, having second thoughts.

Interested in anyones thoughts/opinions

I have the 2015 zed full system acro headers and yoshi r77 with power commander 5 love the z great bike

I have on their way a set of Yoshi R77 slip ons. I saw a Z from NSW on youtube with the same set up which sold me on the Yoshi's! Hopefully they arrive soon. Will be good to mate them up with the arrow headers. Have some time booked on the dyno also. Looking forward to it. Thanks your your reply.
