Well apparently it was not a dream - or I am living the dream - or some such shit

Last week on Facebook, got a pm about a local bike. The female owner had not ridden it for a couple of years, it had been parked up under a tarp in the front yard, while she rode her other bikes. The fuel tank had sprung some leaks along the lower rear seams. These had been repaired (poorly as it turns out) - and so the bike has just languished - unloved and unridden - since May 2014.
Old mate who sent me the pm, asked if I knew anybody who might be interested - I said I would come and have a look, which I did last Friday arvo after work......he had dragged it out from under the tarp and onto the driveway. No tank fitted, one sidecover missing some mounting lugs - a few redbacks crawling around behind the bodywork

I asked about a ball-park figure - he didn't give me one straight up. I pretty much did not need to buy this bike, but it did have some good spares for another one of the same model already in the stable......just before I left - he let me know a ballpark figure.

Made the call on Sunday arvo - offer was accepted. I picked it up on Monday arvo - got it running yesterday evening and took it for a ride this afternoon. Really only needed the battery charged up, some fresh juice, and a few little other jobs, as it had been running when parked up.
Everything works as it should - dash lights, brakes, everything. Feels comfy to ride but only did a short ride up a couple of streets and back

Here is a photo taken last Friday with the tarp off - tank is not fitted, or sidecover or seats. Looks pretty grotty because it was. All clean and tidy now though

$300. Gotta be happy with that
