Some of those things are actually fixed jet, too. You'd probably do better starting with a carb from a CT125 or the 175 ag bike. Don't know why anyone would want a 2 stroke 250 carb for a 150 ish 4 stroke motor. The 250 2 stroke motor would have a higher cfm requirement than a 4 stroke SMALLER motor. I'm surprised it runs.

yea i agree with the carby question, but i dont wanna spend too much on it either..i figure ill just clean it up & ride it, and nope it has no filter & it was raining..could water cause it maybe?? ....
neway, ill just get a new plug for each ride...oh heres a pic of it too, if it works..

Drops of water in the carb could sure do that - very easily block some of the air jets and circuits.

OK NEKA HERES THE TRICK I had a cb250 with 350 heads and barrels race cam and port and polish changed the cv kehin carbys for 38mm mikunis off a t500 suckizi the trick is to swap the slides around as the cut away in the two stroke provides a rich mixture at idle (which if you look at a 4s carb no cutaway) you will still have to rejet the carb with plug readings hope this helps

what are the rules/regs for bucket racing?? what bike size/type any mods if any? Broadford is just up the road and would love to thro a piece of shit around the track rather than T's next bike (the zzr600)... :roll:

Neka - if you visit http://www.postclassicracing.com, they have a forum for the NSW Bucket racers.

These guys have been racing hotted up CB125's and CB150's ( and every possible combination in between) for 15 years. There is nothing that they don't know about carbie jetting for your bucket. The bloke you need to speak to is Ken Lindsay - absolute H@#%^ guru.

Your main jet is way too big - get a 110. Drop the needle to leanest position (ie clip in highest position). Lean out the idle mixture screw to the max. Check float height as well, and set as lean as you can. I am assuming this is a 26 or 28mm flatslide off a RG250 ?? the above mods will at least get you heading in the right direction. 'Reverse slide' mod only works on round-slide 2-stroke carbies.

You really need to do a proper 'plug chop' to check fuel mixture - do this before you change any jetting at all.

Ian Williams is a dead-set legend. He has helped me sort out heaps of jetting hassles in the past.

ohh, - that's a pretty long time to have anything to fix really....... is he stuck on something ?? no parts ?? I wouldn't be waiting that long myself, unless it is a very *special* motor of some sort ?.......
