First 800cc custom KTM at least i have seen to date, basically a modified SX frame (year? would hope it is the latest, older were not good for converting) and what looks like a CR500 bottom end with a Liger 700cc cylinder bored/stroked/sleeved.. maybe. :)
Fantastic bike for learners. :lol:


KTM/ honda CR500 conversions although not common there are a few out there and some in Oz getting around.





No real updates on the CR project.

still waiting on oem parts to continue. Mainly air boot and head stem bearings.
new UFO plastics have arrived (OEM look).
electrical extensions/connections done
just noticed fork seals are leaking
deciding if to go 18" rear rim and need new tyres anyway.
waiting on Clarke 3Gal tank to arrive then mould the base for spark plug clearance.

Next week will be full on 8-)

Yes bigger, 270mm disc. This one is a "Tusk kit" for $119.00 basically bolt on stuff. RMATV.com sell them cheap :D

for those of you that are not facebook privy or savy here is the shakedown run in ride today at a mates private MX track, he had 20mm of rain in the morning after none for seven months and what is usually a dusty area was traction overload. :twisted:

There is a tight twisty track in the bush up the back where we spent hours putting it through its paces.



This is no garage queen and will be ridden at every oppertunity.

this bike handles like a 250, its light and turns brilliantly, the gearing is at 14/45 which you may think is tall but the big torque pulls from almost stalling. This engine is more manageable out of the turns with this gearing and I am not needing to change gears often. Very little vibration which these are known for, everything went perfectly to plan.

It turned out far better than my expectations, the whole thing worked perfectly straight off the work bench to the test track to back home :D


Now I have it in a rideable state there will be some nice additions soon, maybe retard, will be definitely be building more of these.
