Wattie, What is the other ZX10 swingarm you have like? Does it have much damage?
Can you post some pics of it

I am thinking about collecting the parts over time & doing the ZX10 conversion at a later date

thanks for that swing arm madkaw and delivery service was first class wattie thank you. finally got onto the drawings for the spacers which is cool got hold of a zx10 rear wheel and brake caliper now searching for a zx10 rear shock with linkage. fellows cant thank yous enough for you help will keep you posted on progress.

How much roughly did the wheel & caliper set you back?
Are you sure you need the ZX10 linkage? I thought you could use the ZX7 linkage & just slide the shock in?
Obviously they will end up at different heights one way or the other?

Did you have to look around for the drawings of the spacers etc?

I rounded up a heap of pics from other forums, I have the ZX7 spacer diagram & a word DOC guide to fit the ZX10 swingarm on a ZX7 but they are too big too upload here (PM if you would like me to send them to you)>

wheel with axle and spacer with nut, caliper. mounting bracket and swing arm shaft set me back just short of 500 it all looks pretty straight
not sure about linkage maybe i can use the 7 have to do more reading on this one but chasing a zx10 rear shock and i will have all the bits to give it a go. have drawings to make the spacers so hope all goes well. i suppose ride height will be diffrent so have to work out to get this right but all good fun

I have a Crim swingarm to fit to a 1983 GPz1100A1 will need different spacers to yours but the concept is the same

All the pics above my last post were from forums all over, The spacers I used were similar to those pictured above but I actually simplified it more
I should have taken some pics of my ZX10 to ZXR 750 swingarm spacers etc to show how easy it is
I went & bought another OEM ZX10 spacer (Just under $10) the same as the left side spacer, Part number 92152-1234 & fitted it on the right side (this might work for you too Gosling1?) & had the hex section skimmed off the ZX10 pivot bolt, The rest is pretty easy

cheers - the swingarm pivot mounting system on the old GPz1100 is waaay different to the ZX7 or ZX10. I will have to fabricate a long tube spacer as the OEM pivot bolt is only 14mm on the old girls

Not enough meat to bore the frame holes out 6mm on each side?

thats the rub - the frame only has a hole on 1 side - on the other side, the end of the pivot bolt has a clamp that bolts over the pivot bolt and onto the frame its nothing at all like the beam-frames, its old-school steel tube. If I bored this out 6mm, the clamp would only be 3 or 4mm thick

Its no real biggy, I just have to go about the conversion a little differently than how you have done yours. The best part about the conversion is that the ZX10 swingarm pretty much slides into the GPz frame easily - the pivot-section is almost identical in width to the GPz swingarm......

One other thing I have to do - is off-set the linkages, as the 1100 frame had the shock smack in the middle of the frame, not offset to the left like on a 10. This is a fairly easy job as well.....

Hello mates, I'm new to this site and it looks like it has a lot of great info. I'm from the states and I own a '96 ZX7R that I'm doing ZX10R suspension swap on ('07 fork tubes with custom billet aluminum triple trees(uses stock 7R bearings with 50mm fork tube openings for 10r fork tubes), front wheel,'09 calipers and '05 swing arm, rear wheel, etc.). I already have the parts and dropped off the PDF file for the spacers (that I got from redmonkey.com, but that website is no longer up) at the machine shop 2 days ago. NINJAINOZ in the 4th pic from the top (not including the 1st pic of the spacer dimensions ) that you posted in the "spacers diagram" post how much of the spacer needs to cut off to sit on the little ledge that's on the inside of the frame (left side) ? Also what's the best material to make the spacers out of stainless steel or aluminum ? I'm having them made out of stainless steel but I can call my machinist and have them made out of aluminum if it's better to use than stainless (he has a couple projects ahead of mine). Your response would be GREATLY appreciated as there's only 3 ZX7R's in my city (including mine) and I would like to stand apart from the rest. Thank you in advance for your help, cheers.
