Possibly the speed triple being a fairly new model has cheaper available replacement parts and less claims history? I dare say after 2-3 years the agreed value and premium would reflect your rex after adding a pipe etc
Im with Shannons and they cover my trackbike for fire theft etc so between 2 bikes they are competitive but just my roadbike alone Id probably be elsewhere

Yes I may pay a little more in my premium, I have also been in the situation that I was taken out and got what I needed to replace the bike - and more. Makes it worthwile then.
My $0.02 worth

Exactly what Phil said go agreed value and pay that little bit extra, in the end I found QBE very good to deal with and have stuck with them for my Z1000 which is agreed value, never going market value again, have heard a few people getting disenchanted with Shannons over their premiums.
Angry Emmet wrote:Thanks for all the replies Gents, i decided to keep the Z900 regod for another year so will be sticking with Shannon's and insureing both, total cost has come down with some negotiating after Shannons agreed that they have the Zrx in wrong category, its now a "sports tourer" NOT a "sports bike" !!! Zrx agreed value $10000.00 and total cost of $467.00, Z900 agreed value $10500 and total additional cost of $89.70 per year, Speed triple is also considered a "sports tourer" and with an agreed value of $18000.00 is still $332 per year (all with 65% no claim discount!), pity i dont own a speed triple, not yet anyway!
Merry Christmas,
Angry.
