GTR 1000 1986 FUEL overflow from carb problem

I have only had the bike for a month. I had fuel coming out or the carb overflow pipe on one side now and then, when the motor was running so I blew air down it and it cleared it. I put a fuel cleaner in the tank and ran the bike for 300k's but now I have the other side carbs pissing fuel out of the overflow when the bike is running. I have tried everything to clear it without success. When the choke is on full the bike runs better but the fuel is getting into the oil and is comes out the exhaust. I don't want to remove the carbs unless i really need to. I could use any suggestions to fix it as the bike is not rideable.

You will have to remove the carbys and replace all the needle vales and reset the float level.

we've got 2 products here that have about a 25% chance of helping if left in the float bowls for a week or 2....

but the choke thing is because the pilot jets are dirty & the leak thing is because your float needles (valves) & seats are dirty

btw...i don't think you can replace the float needle seats on your carbs but a Q-Tip dipped in Brasso in a drill will make them so pretty you'll want to put them on your grandmas mantlepiece

exactly - after a short time running, a lot of the crap in the tank will now have made its way down the fuel lines and is jamming up the needle & seat. Unfortunately tonyj - the only way to sort this out properly, is buy 4 new ones and fit them all, then fit some in-line filters to the fuel lines to stop it happening again.

Ripping carbies off is no big deal really - well, its not when you do it 15 times in a day sorting out carbie issues ...

If you happen to be out on a ride and this happens,grab a screwdriver drop the bowls and floats find some rough concrete and take the pointy bit of the top of the needle and off ya go.Yep did this a long time ago on the side of the road no big deal

Thanks for all the advice, I have taken it under advisement, for the next time I have that problem because I fixed it.... out of frustration and after staring at the carbs for an hour or two I decided to drain them and then i blew air up the drain hole and as luck would have it, It worked and is now running like before.. I do have one question you could help me with.. The weather is in the low 30's but the motor is running hotter than I think it should. Great in winter but the heat coming off the motor is unbearable when I'm doing short runs. I have flushed the radiator and put new coolant in it but that didn't change anything, still hot. Any ideas on what the cause might be ?
