I agree, I reckon the engine rule should be open. But I'd also prefer to see them have the absolute christ tuned out of them but at the same time have to comply with a maximum amount of engines to last the year, say 3 engines (to keep cost down somewwhat), bore/stroke must remain stock but apart from that knock yerself out.
Still no electronics to - just make it a little more interesting as you have to tune the engine to be rideable - not just mask it's problems with expensive gadgetry
