He's still like that Marty. I have met Stoner on numerous occasions and each time he has impressed me. I first met him well before he became the sensation he now is, back when he was racing 125's. I was at Phillip Island one year and bumped into this Aussie lad in the main street of Cowes. We had a chat with him and he came across as honest, upfront and said what he thought. I liked his attitude so much that I named my first born Casey!!
After my Casey was born, I met Stoner's parents at Phillip Island. They bundled my Casey, my wife and me (dressed in our bright green Kawasaki jackets) into their car and took us over to chat with Stoner. Casey and his parents are all down to earth and very easy to get along with. They just don't like the limelight. The lad just wants to do his job and go home. Fair enough I think.
Have met with both Stoner and his parents on a number of occasions since and nothing's changed.
As yo say Marty, unfortunately a lot of people base their opinions about sports people based on how they are portrayed in the media. Such is life. I'm sure Stoner couldn't care less if Lone Wolf doesn't like him.
