"Adverse road conditions" you say? Possibly the biggest one - if it encompasses cage driver education (addressing lack thereof).

In addition of course, the obvious poor road quality both inside and outside of the CBD and GBD.

Money well spent? Not convinced. Where's all that roadside tax going Mr Bracks? I know I've paid my fair share.

I've yet to actually see or hear of any real differences the money has made. Just another tax. Hit a minority group, easy target. Might even get a few of them off the road.

My bike costs more than my car to register thanks to the levy. :(

"Investigate the possible benefits of a zero blood alcohol content for riders."
I am all for zero BAC when riding, but being forced to do so? Sure would be an outcry if car drivers had the same suggestions made!
"One of the principal reasons people ride motorcycles is the perception that riding is fun."
Obviously written by someone who DOESN'T ride a bike....
"However, riding that is inherently more exciting, such as riding on winding mountain roads at high speeds, is potentially dangerous."
Hmmmm just got to look how Mt Glorious has become...... Seems no-one gets to make a choice any more in this world- you can choose to ride Mt Glorious, knowing the consequences if you stuff up- but now the police hold your hand (speed enforcement, and entrapment to commit in some situations I hear) so that you don't put yourself in any potentially dangerous situations......
"Improve the safety of the roads known to be preferred by riders seeking excitement, such as those in the Dandenongs, Yarra Ranges National Park, Arthur's Seat, and Great Ocean Road. Provide support for local publicity programs and targeted police enforcement in municipalities participating in the motorcycle local government program."
Hmmmm motorcyclists have chosen the quiet, away places to enjoy their motorcycles and sometimes flout the speed limits that do not in any way reflect the capabilites of modern motorcycles, or even the road conditions. Speed limits keep getting lower and lower as time progresses, and penalties for breaking these unrealistic limits get higher and higher, causing much financial and sometimes employment loss when licences are cancelled. Just got to look at the road between Ipswich and Brisbane- the highway now has a speed limit of 90 in places .......Toowoomba range has a history of TRUCK accidents whilst descending the steep one in ten incline- response- talk is now to lower the speed limit for all vehicles, from top to bottom to 60km/h. (Peter Wherrett's advice.) Speed limit coming UP the range now has been lowered AGAIN. One motorcyclist died recently coming up the range on a Ducati, at an estimated speed of 150km/h in the 60 zone...response- drop the speed limit further down the mountain......... * RANT OVER*.......
What the hell is the world coming to. We are the most over policed nation of drivers/riders with one of the largest continents (i.e. largest distances to travel) and we keep getting forced to travel slower and slower..........causing longer trip times and fatigue as one consequence....
*Rant really over this time*

2 X ZRX1200R 4 X ER6N, GT550, 1988 ZX-10, 4 X GPZ250R, 4 X GPZ900R and GPZ750R :) Yeah I like Kawasakis.

None of it should be spent on road safety. Want to improve road safety that benefits all road users, take it from petrol tax, not our $50. Mongrels. (Unless they're trying to pass off zero tolerance by police as road safety?)

(Doesn't seem to be a lot it in for the registered bush bashers that are paying it too).
