Xenon Bulb...

Postby Felix » Sat Apr 23, 2005 4:56 pm

In Supercheap today to get some replacement bulbs for my "dash" (is it called a dash on a bike?) as I only had one bulb on the speedo side - very evident last night. I spotted a 60/55W bulb just like my ER takes - $20. Worth a try I reckon, as normal bulb sucks badly on low beam, high is ok, but low beam sucks. And I did have to remove the headlight anyway... Will have a ride around the block tonight and see how it goes.

60/55's do a pretty alright job of it, makes you wonder why they weren't fitted stock (compared to the 45/40 that must be fitted or so).

it reminds me of the other night when i was hooning along homebush bay drive in the left lane at about 100 at 1am. I caught myself thinking "fark im getting a good spread of light tonight", then i looked in my rear view mirror and there was a frigging commodore about 10meteres off my six with half a lighting factory on his front bumper.

It amused me for a little bit :).

60/55 actually is standard on the ER...but the Xenon does seem to be brighter...there were 100/65's there as well, but I don't fancy changing the specs that much - blown bulbs/fuses at night could be a very bad thing.

It is nice to have more than one bulb on the dash working though...

D'oh!

I was going to put the brand up as well and we can use this as a marker for longevity and so forth.

TRIFA - was $19.99 from supercheap and normal halogen's were $12.99 - how could I resist?
