ZXR250C battery

Postby NinjaMoses » Fri Apr 22, 2005 10:10 am

Can anyone tell me what type of battery these things take to save me from having to rip off the fuel tank first to find out? The bike is a 2000 model but Im pretty sure they didnt change at all in the 7 or 8 years.

The manual just states that its a maintenace free battery and it should never be replaced with a conventional battery. Sounds like a load of shite to me...

After a bit of hardcore googling it looks like it is probably a Yuasa YB9L-A2, but if anyone out there has a ZXR250/ZX2R and feels like confirming this for me it would be greatly appreciated.

The bike has an autowatch alarm which probably doesnt help the battery much, but after a 2 hour ride the frieking thing still wouldnt start again the next morning, so it looks like the battery is toast.

Cheers guys,

Matey... Welcome to my world...

It is definately a YB9L-A2 cause I just checked with one of my store managers who used to own the same bike... He also said you dont need to take the fuel tank completely off and it's an easy job.

If you can tell me where abouts you are I can also orgainse a good price from one of my stores nearest to you...

My girlfriend said thanks heaps mate, it is much appreciated (its her bike). Hopefully we will be able to get the little baby ninja running sweet again. Only had it for 2 days and have been pretty much push starting it everywhere :P

Will post some piccies up of it in the next day or two (that said it looks exactly the same as the other two 2000 ZXR250's in the show off your ride threads)
