Urgent help needed.

Postby Mad RS » Fri Nov 26, 2010 8:00 pm

I am trying to bring the fork tubes through the clamps (3mm) and am having the most mind f**king time trying to do it. I have 2 big F**koff screw drivers prising the clamps apart, I can rock the tube within the clamp but do you think they will slide through, F**k NO!!! I tried it with the front wheel on, driver in each clamp and hammering the hell out of a block of wood on top of the clamps, nothing. WD40....nothing. I have the front wheel off and I can't even twist the tubes. What is going on??

What is the trick??? I am about a flea's dick away from giving up but it can't be that hard.

Silly question, but have you undone both top and bottom triple clamps?

Have you loosened the clip one also? They have locator bolts attaching them to the top triple clamp.

Yeah mate both top and bottom clamps loosened and they should just slide through. Don't panic there's an answer here somewhere........but why are you trying to slide the forks through anyway, they're pretty sharp stock.
