Yeah Frank is winding down but he is still a very smart guy.
Im happy I went with Peter, & I did it for the exact reason you are. He's done dozens of them & knows what fixes there short commings. Thats why I went that way. Price had a bit to do with my dissision. But at around $600 I wasnt expecting a full blown race bike suspension. But it did what I expected, & that was make a better handling, more controled & compliant bike. Ticks on all three box's.
I think just to finish the job I'll be fitting a steering damper, & that should just tidy up the loose ends... ;)

Well Promecha has my REX parts (forks and shocks), two days Penrith to his place via Aussie Post, $22 post plus $25 odd insurance! We shall see how long he takes with this lot, he had my last forks for 4 weeks, hope he is faster this time!!!!!

Promecha Suspension update, all parts back in Penrith via Aussie Post 15 days after sending ! Fitted up, running 15mm preload as measured per the Kawasaki workshop manual (5.5 rings showing on fork adjust), rebound 6 out from full hard, comp 8 out from full hard, lowered front 4mm buy raising forks up through triples= FORKS EXCELLENT. Shocks= ORDINARY! They feel a little different, maybe less harsh, still bottom out too easily, still playing with them as far as adjustments, maybe will prove to be ok, but forks definately highlight how ordinary the shocks really are! In any case $620 plus freight well spent, it now performs how it should have originally!
So, in short, recommend Promecha highly , Penrith NSW to Victoria and back in 2 weeks, about $700 inc freight spent, definately worthwhile improvement, Peter at Promecha easy to deal with, no damaged parts, blah blah blah.

Regards,
A.E. :D

Emmet ,on the rear, try 4 comp, 2 rebound, & 1 down from the hardest on the spring. That should be much better. Too much rebound seems to have an adverse effect on the rear. Thats what I have mine set at & its pretty good. It did take a lot of stuffing around though. I think its because you get use to the crappy standard suspension, it takes a while to get the feel of the Promecha changes. You'll get it better every time you ride it..

Thanks Sman, funnily enough what you suggest is what i am trying, sort of, i have 4 on comp and trying 3 and 2 on rebound, i thought i was imagining things but i am sure the comp on 4 is also increasing the rebound, i tried 3 on preload and thought it felt better almost everywhere, sort of suggests springs are soft. I went back to 2 on preload and it felt much the same but bottomed out a lot easier. Let you know how i progress, either way the whole thing is a LOT better. My problem with the rear is i have been spending time, an hour yesterday riding an xjr1300 with Ohlins back an forth over bumpy section of the putty, adjusting this and that, got it where its owner and i both LOVE it front and back, THEN riding mine back and forther, got the forks how i want, the rear is ok, never going to match the Ohlins, but having said that the Ohlins are mainly more comfortable with more bottoming resistance whereas the ZRX is still harsh in the rear and bottoms more easily. Still, its close and Ohlins are $1400 plus.....

Yes I do think the rear spring are a little soft for two up riding, but one up they are fine, I have never bottemed out one up since Promecha worked them over. I have however bottomed out with the Mrs on the back. [ but only once or twice]. But bumping the spring pre load up the hardest stoped this completely.
I weigh 90kgs & the Mrs 70kgs all geared up, but one up I drop the spring back the second hardest, for [how can I say spirited/hard riding with the boys, if you know what I mean?
Best you come for a ride up to the pie in the sky & we can compair setting over a coffee & pie..
