ZRX Ignition Advancer -Ordering from ZRXOA

Postby shadowarrior » Wed Aug 25, 2010 12:56 pm

Hey guys,

Am ordering Kwick's +4 Ignition advancer off ZRXOA, so thought if any of you guys want to order along with me? He can send them all at once in a box that way saving us some postal time and cost.
He also has +2 if you need them. Heres a link to his thread:

Cheers

Gedday Sidds, I've already got one (from Ted on the ZRXOA site) ..... I fitted mine at the same time as doing a full system change so was difficult to separate the benefit between both. A lot of people on the ZRXOA site claim a good benefit from fitting them.
Let me know if you want a hand to fit.
Cheers,
Tony

Hey Tony,
had sms'ed you today about it as well, did you receive it? Thought your phone was playing up again so was going to call you up just now :)

Yeah I read lots of happy posts on people who used them on stock, rejetted and full exhausts and even with bumped up compressions in zrxoa, so thought of giving it a try.

Kwick supposedly confirmed that Ted's advancer was actually a +2 instead of the +4, and he mentioned you should only use a +2 with compression bumped-up engines like a 1224 or a 1109 to minimize risks of detonation. Do you have any problem like that?

Would really appreciate some help on putting that on. I'll give you a buzz and come over to your place once I receive them, waiting for my paypal funds to be cleared. Tons of thanks for that in advance :kuda:

@JetPilot, did you notice any difference? Any throttle feel around the 6k rpm range? They supposedly also improve the mileage a bit?

I didnt notice any improved fuel economy, the throttle is more linear though.

BTW, mine is a Ted model as well;)

Forgot to add, I've dealt with Pete, he's cool. Makes it much more easy to hand over $$ when you know the vendor is above baord. All the ZRX guys I've used have been great, Dal, Giannis, Ted, Jason, Mori Man, Pete aka Kwick, Greg Couch......to name a few

The first mod I did to my '99 was to install Ted's advancer. That was to an otherwise stock motor (20,000km) and the only real improvement I felt was that throttle response was slightly crisper.

Teds advancer takes the ignition to +4 degrees, up from the stock (1100 at least) 1.5 degrees. Thats where a lot of people were getting confused. They thought they were adding 4 degrees of timing.

My old green bitch is now nearly 90,000km old and now runs ZZR1100 cams, podded-jetted carbs and an Akropovic full sytem. I still have the ignition advancer on board and it is still running as smooth as silk.

Like Phil, I whole-heartedly recommend any product made by the ZRXOA fabricators. I have a couple of Ted's bits on my bike and one of Gregs fork braces. All top quality.

Hope that helps,

Pete

Hey Scotty
I think the easiest way would be to transfer the money into my bank account, and I will add that to my paypal account and transfer it to Pete (Kwick). You are in Mel as well, so getting the advancer back to you wouldn't be much hassle. I will pm you my bank details as soon as I get back home.

Did you decide on which one to get? +4 or a +2?

I fitted a teds advancer [thanks again top cat] & while I couldnt feel a real difference first up. I rode the ZRX a week later & there was a difference. The engine pull's much cleaner from lower, seems to have smoothed out some tingles at set 120/130K speeds, I think its just made the engine a bit better everywere.
But mainly from lower in the revs. The bike is happier at lower revs. You need not rev it over 4000rpm at all, for cruising around. Out right performance I would say probably not a great deal.
But a much sweeter bike all over. Im very happy.

Hey guys, after reading all the merits of the +4 advancer im going to get one.
Is the ZRXOA price better than his online ebay price? Ebay is $36.38 plus $18.50 postage.
Does anyone else need one so we can save on postage? Anyone got a +4 they want to part with.

cheers
