Went to install a timing advancer wheel today and in my haste I stupidly put the rattle gun on the nut head on the OEM wheel, zapped it and wondered why it was free-wheeling so much. That's when I realised that it was the Allen key bolt in the middle that I had to take off

Result: Broke the locating nib off the crank gear that locates the advancer wheel relative to the crank

Any ideas on what to do now? I'm definitely not going to install the wheel without that locating nib... Maybe I can drill it enough to shove something else in there as a locating pin?
The thing that really pisses me off is the fact that I actually have a Haynes manual but didn't think about reading it because it looked so straight forward
